Thanks for this tutorial. This song has so many ways to have fun. I like it. I like also the way Eva Cassidy sings it on the video where she is in a small venue. Rips your heart out and nice guitar intro.
Finally someone who explained this song, so i finally understand it.The chord charts helps a lot. Now lets see if can finally learn it. The combination of the chords and the melody is what sets this lesson apart. ....progess report , i am almost done learning it
The chord fretboard diagrams with your sound really helps . It’s hard to what a person is doing with fingers on camera . This is really helpful. Also toggling between chord box and musical staff is a neat idea. Covering all bases. I like a diagram synchronised with sound .. much better than …” put your first finger on the second string third fret…..band the …. “ by the time they’ve built the chord I’ve forgotten the first bit ….great job Scot . Another cracker video .
@@TheVersatileGuitarist yes, I guess so - its just in the early stages it helps and I think I work better with a picture - (I am the same with maps vs verbal instructions for driving - its a verbal processing defect in me ) I still appreciate the visuals to back up what you are saying and doing - this will speed up my sight recognition of hand shapes on camera - as you say it will improve . Thanks
Yes, you are very good. I think you have the patience to teach and I like it when it's illustrated with the graphics, for those of us that don't read music. Thank you.
really like your stile. It is instructive, and straight to the point - no long and unnecessary introduction ment (may be, as it often seems like) for someone that never have touched a guitar. I have played before and got a lot of new and good and and inspiring inputs here. Very good! 😊
@@TheVersatileGuitarist hi scott ! i have enjoyed your playing and lessons so much , thank you ! i was wondering if you have uploaded a lesson for " tenderly " ?another marvelous standard. i have been a huge fan of frank vignola for many years , he had a fine lesson on the song , and i have learned quite a bit of it , but he does not display a chord fingering chart ,and occasionally it's hard to know all the notes he is playing [ or muting ] in a chord , although he does explain each chord, [ i end up combining my ear with trial & error ] . just curious , i'd very much like to hear your interpretation of the song . thanks scott !!
Brilliant lesson Scot I’ve been looking for ages for a version like this not too jazzy and great choice of chord inversions another one added to my repertoire ;also you must be super human as I didn’t see once you take a breath😉

Hello Mr. Thank you so much for your nice class. It is very intersting the way you do it, and in adition, the song that you play is so nice that the first time I hear it, I thougt by my self: Wow, this is a dream. Please, bealive me! Thaks Mr.
Hi Mr. Scot, thank you for answering me so quickly. I'm sure you know that we beginners wonder all the time about our attitudes to understand the art of music. Here's my question, I come back to your arrangement of Autumn Leaves. (dead leaves). Your presentation on video, describes us very well to play the notes alone and on another measure the melodic chords. How do you find the agreement that corresponds to the note
Hi, I’m never sure what people are actually searching for in terms of the words they’re typing into RUclips search… So I figure Fingerstyle is more all encompassing than chord melody, which some people don’t know the meaning of.
Yes, that is on my list! If you’re on my mailing list I can let you know when I post it up, it should be fairly soon. Here’s the link to my mailing list: sandiegoguitarlessons.ac-page.com/scot-taber-newsletter
RANDY JUDAH TORREZ ❤️ < Really interesting I think I heard this tune playing in a movie before. 🎬 And those sound like Nylon strings on your gutter nevertheless Thank you fantastic Tutorial absolutely wonderful I've come to realize for this type of music I probably should start using Nylon strings and get my action lowered as much as possible or change to lighter gage strings on my gutter would be a lot easier on me fingers. ✋️🤚 Really appreciate your teaching Sincerely: RANDY JUDAH 🎸 Shalom 🫒🕊
1:26 The lessons are okay , but I think this is for many too difficult. It begins already rightaway with a rather difficult chord. I can play Autumn leaves in one note melody, but with this chords it is too difficult for me.
You can absolutely play this with a pick! Especially because we are playing a single note melody with no other notes and then strumming the chord and toggling back-and-forth between those two things

Hello Scot, can you tell me which strings you play? Thanks
I almost always use the D’Adario flamenco strings
Thank you so much for well presented tutorial
You are welcome!
Very nice. Thank you.
Question: Why do you call this “Fingerstyle” (and not “Chord Melody”)?
BTW: I liked and Subscribed.
Hi, I’m never sure what people are actually searching for in terms of the words they’re typing into RUclips search… So I figure Fingerstyle is more all encompassing than chord melody, which some people don’t know the meaning of.
Any chance of doing a simple nature boy tutorial please

Nylon string is the way to go! All my videos are about how and what to play on nylon…

Indeed Thank you 😊 🙏

Too much TALKING!!!
You’re right, who needs things explained?
