If they did expect the competition in Hong Kong CX to start doing the same they have the iconic cucumber sandwich paint and the A321neo Dragonair 1985 paint. On Hong Kong to Manila route you would have gotten them as A321neo CX907/906 and CX913/976 which would leave you with the remaining flights CX919/919 CX901/900 & CX903/902 to be the iconic cucumber sandwich paint. Remember Hong Konger Taiwanese will never fly on Philippine Airlines retro jet because they see the interior inferior to CX retro jets on HKG-MNL route.
Asia's First Airline Phillippine Airlines 😍😍😍 Great Old Video The Lovely Pal Classics And Manila International Airport 😍😍😍 Beautiful especially the Pal 747-200 my Lovely Queen Of the skies Great Man Thanks for this Video it's Very Rare Footage to see The Old Phillippine Airlines and Manila International Airport great! Bring Back Memories ❤️
Ayos tong mga to ah. Was not able to experience any of their three-cockpit crew fleet. Earliest fleet now retired that I can recall is an A330 with GE engines.
Very interesting indeed and I'm wondering what years were these clips taken because in 1998 to 2000 Terminal 2 MNL opened that's where PR International and domestic flight
Nice I Have a Drawing Of Pal Planes To 1970 to 2022 And Looks Good In Time Of Marcos and Ramos Times and Happy To see You Caugth The Rare Video Of air Philippines 737 Great Spotted I Dont Know Theres Are Have a Video Footage Of Pal in 90's
I loved that surprise 737 clip, definitely missed them (and their low clearance!), shame PAL was the only airline during the middle of its life, had an amazing livery throughout though. :)
Awesome, you were paying close attention..as you know, that really doesn't fit in with the rest in this video but that 737-200 was operational when every other jet seen was flying. I may have to give Air Philippines it's own video.
Air Philippines was caught in that time when PAL’s fleet was mostly very young (having ordered A320/330/340s) with their 737-200s. It looked surreal in terminals having both planes parked next to each other. Also the BAC 1-11, I always hear about it from my elders. The DC-10 was pretty much a rarity too, the exact #2 of the B747.
That Philippine Airlines Flight 434 killed its International prime especially in European airspace where PAL used to flew regularly before. And sadly PAL is on board regaining its old worldwide connections but the pandemic hits that made it not to push through. 😞
It's Ashame That Philippine Airlines Terminated Most Of It's Flights To Europe Which Made London Heathrow As The Sole European Destination Until Its Termination In 2022 And So Does South Asia And Some Countries In The Middle East As Well As Africa
The ninoy aquino died in manila international airport in terminal 1 then president aquino build an new airport named ninoy aquino international airport or naia
Great collection of Philippine Airlines Retro... I hope PAL will put a fleet with each Retro Livery like what other airlines do.
bawal na po kasi iba na ang nagpapatakbo ng pal

I really wish i was born during the times i could experience these jets. Great Video!
5:45 Dc10 looks great from the landing
0:32 I love the sound of the Bac 111’s Spey engines spooling up just after the push from the gate, nothing quite like that sound
ahh yes....
Loved seeing the air stairs in use on the DC9
Ooo PAL's 742s!!! Those planes were so rare back in the day that there's barely any footage of them on YT.
Preach on brother!
There is actually footage of a PAL 742 w/ the classic livery. I watched a short Japanese video on Narita, & for a brief second, a PAL 742 appeared.
@@LukeTansiongco Can I pls have the link for it?
It’s nice to see those old good buddies :) thank you! The Philippine Airport looks nice those days :)
The PAL livery was also much more 'lively'...

Flew PAL Bac 11 from Tablas to Manila in 1987 and B747-200 from Frankfurt to Manila in 1990..those were the days
2:12 I remember the Air Philippines Flight 541 that crashed on Samal island on April 2000.
All due to pilot error and poor visibility.

2:20 smooth landing

T2 only appears with the Air Philippines 737-200, all other footage is from 1960s -1980s.
@@Starboard76 Thank you.
@@EpicThe112 I have plenty of year 2000 MNL footage (Air Philippines is just a peek).
