I've downloaded the Google Channel app and successfully set up. When I go to a specific product, I am not getting the Google Fields option in More Actions. Have you run into this with the most recent release?
Yes, with the latest release, there is a slight amendment to the setup. If you want to make any changes, go straight to the Google app >> Under Overview >> Under Product Status; on the right hand side, click on Manage Products. That's where you can make the changes in bulk for Google Product Category.
Thank you, can I just use the number category? Let's say my Google product category is 433. Can I just put the number there instead of written apparels?
What about product type? for example i have product tshirt women - category Apparel & Accessories > Clothing > Shirts & Tops what will be the product type?
Hey Clarice... thank you, this tutorial was so so helpful - we sell educational products for children and some of them don't seem to fit nicely into any of Google categories? For example children watches, educational flash cards and decor for children's rooms like a world map sticker. How would you approach finding the right category or is just getting the general gist okay
To make sure the values are saved, reload your product page again on Shopify. If they show up, it means the values are saved on Shopify (Google app) end. You need to also make sure the values are updated to Google Shopping, enable the setting "automatic product update" on Merchant center if you have the API set up. Else you need to manually reupload your product data to MC. You can double check on your data output in MC.
My store connects to shopify account and google merchant account takes data with shopify api from my store. Can I also must add to be manuel data on Google's merchant rules ?
yes. If you do not set the Google Product Category, Google will try to guess which is the correct category. Sometimes they get it right, other times they don't.

You can also set up the rules in Google Merchant to update the attribute in bulk.
