Great review - thank you. My last truck was a 2019 RAM Laramie 1500. I traded it in for this same GMC. Everything is much higher quality on the GMC. The highly contoured dash design, heated seats, the cooling ability of the seats, the heating steering wheel, even the air vents on the dash of the GMC are much higher quality.
I bought this same truck last week equipped with optional Volcanic Red Tintcoat …very pretty color I must say ….my truck came with the Sunroof/Moonroof …I have never had a electric rear opening window before and that is neat….I traded in my 2011 Sierra that was rusting out so I had this truck undercoated with the Rhino/Oil set up before I picked it up and this treatment can only be applied to a new vehicle ….The interior is beautiful ….The Infotainment screen has a learning curve to it at least for me….As you did show there is the Auto Start/Stop button that must be reset each time you start the truck …I personally hate that having experienced it in my wife’s Honda …very aggravating to say the least as is any Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) system….another set up other owners are nixing when the warranty is up with a aftermarket module….as for the dash it is switchable to other formats but I wish one format choice had round gauges for Oil/Temp//Volts/Fuel which are given in a bar graph linear type set up on the bottom of the dash … I don’t like for these are hard to read at a glance compared to round gauges with needle pointers we all are accustomed too…GMC allows you to simplify these if you do wish …..There gobs of room in the truck with grab handles ….very comfortable with leather seating that’s heated as is the steering wheel which I’ve never had …The cameras I’m getting used too slowly having never had them either….I love the Multi Pro Tail Gate and I’ll endeavor not to drop it on a hitch…I do wish the Sierra had my biggest vehicle pet peeve and that is Amber Turn Lamps on the tail lights ….they are just so important due to their increased visibility in bad weather/their dedicated for turn and flasher and just plain look nice ….I haven’t used the 4WD yet but one new owner wanted the light button module on the left (Where it has always been) and the 4WD to the right so he switched their locations ……My 2011 had an ashtray …but not this truck….It has the X31 off road package which provides Rancho Shocks ..High Capacity Air Filter and skid plates ….I’m okay with the Shifter I guess …It’s definitely new to me …with this set up you lose the middle seat that my 2011 had….the first thing I added to the truck while still at the dealer that had I purchased prior are two convex blind spot mirrors …I placed them below the lighted setups that come in the side mirrors …I’m sorry but I won’t drive with out these …I will use the mirror folding option ..that’s nice…….my truck with my trade came in at $62K…..Wish me luck …she’s a grand truck for sure ….
I've got a 2021 GMC 1500 X.31 with V8 5.3L & 4x4/AWD 8 speed transmission. Luckily it was made during Covid and its shortage of Computer chips years. Thus, it has: NO engine Auto Start/Stop, NO AFM/DFM (which creates stuck lifters - 0uch!), NO down Hill Engine Braking (which is hard on transmissions) and NO On-Star system. Yes. All the "advanced" computer stuff that causes known problems. Instead of "more" electronics, one needs to go back to the base build - that creates less future problems. Especially its factory AFM/DFM system - that creates lifter and cam shaft problems. Research factory build problems before buying! Glad I did!
I love that truck. Wow. I have had several 5.3 liter engines in the Yukon and Tahoe. No problems at all. If I get a 2025 GMC SLT, it will be with the 5.3 engine. I don't like the wheel design. I guess it is just me. I could live with that design. I won't be coming over there as we live in south central Florida and I am close to my GMC dealer. I really liked the video.
I've had a 2020 AT4, a 2022 SLT, and now a 2024 Denali, all with the diesel, and the SLT is the best value to me. I prefer the interior dash and console layout, and can get every option I want for a lot less money. I only got a Denali because of a huge year end discount.
I just bought the denali. 6.2L. Its a beast. I am in love with it. I also got it for a great price too. Out the door with tax, title and license at 71,500. Not bad for a vehicle with a sticker price of 80,050. If i would have had to pay the full Denali price, I would have done the exact thing he said, customize it. 😂
I’m considering this Truck , excellent video. I feel like I know the truck better now. I wanted the AT4 , can’t find a deal on one. I’m hoping the X31 will almost as good .
I agree...the lifted, extended big tire look...is for the young bucks. My older F150 was like that...and honestly at my older age...I like this look. I might lift it 2inch...and get rid of the rake. But love the Truck as it is!
I luv the console electronic shifter, told the salesman don't show me anything else. I was tired of that column shifter. Old and dated. Shyt i learned how to drive with a three speed shifter on the column. 1963 Ford ranchero
I have the same kind of truck I don’t like a couple of things about it like the cup holders only in the doors and the not being able to answer my phone on the steering wheel
My wife friend’s husband bought a top of the line GMC 1500, don’t know the exact model, but he paid over $90000 out the door? I think he’s crazy ! I don’t care what model and what option ! Stupid !😂😂😂😂😂
I've been a gm man my whole life. Never owned another brand. But i can't get pass my 03 Sierra and Silverado. They were in fact the best built trucks from gm. Not allot of sencors and unneeded things. Just good trucks. Great review. Beautiful truck but way over priced. But everything is overpriced these days.
No……everything is just more crap to break. Build a naked truck with a bullet proof engine and drivetrain, one that won’t break in the first 300,000 miles, you will bankrupt the competition.

Glad to see GMC is not on the list as they are a garbage company. Bought a 2019 5.3L sierra and have had nothing but problems with shuddering and hard shifting. After 2.5 years of them trying to fix it and it not being fixed, I wanted them to buy it back but that was denied. They did put in a new transmission under powertrain warranty but now they are trying to make me pay for it even though I asked and clarified that the new transmission is under warranty and I don’t have to pay for it. Even worse, the same problems persist after 2.5 years and a new transmission and now they want me to pay for any work they do on the same issue they have been working on for a couple of years and not fixed. DO NOT BUY A GMC or CHEVY!
Bought a 2018 new. Same issue however GM’s fix is to put lighter synthetic oil in the transmission at my cost with extended warranty. Bandage fix to the real problem and I feel they are going to lose a lot of business not standing up to there vehicles. New 10 speeds are even worst that they are locking up and you can’t move. Better start stepping up GM.

I have the 2023 SLT but with the LZ0 3 liter diesel. So far 18,000 trouble-free miles with an average of 28 mpg.

IF it weren't for the Chrome the SLT would be the perfect Trim level. You can actually find SLT's cheaper than elevations.
