Sometimes I want to get a harmonica and tell no one, not even my parents, practice when no one is around, become ok at it, then randomly bust out my harmonica and reveal that I'm not too bad at harmonica. Or better.
Same. I got my first one in the mail yesterday and only my dad knows that I was planning on getting one. I'm gonna keep it a secret from everyone else untill I can play cool enough. It get's surprisingly loud with very little effort and is hard to play quietly so I mostly get to practise at work because it's a noisy enviroment. Just gotta hide it whenever anyone's around.
My late brother used to play harmonica crazily well. I want to keep 2 of his hobbies alive playing harmonica and forming letters from plywood and yarn instead of crying all the time to grieve his spirit. Will keep you guys updated. My harmonica will be delivered today ❤😂
i have one in C and one in A,not mustache friendly but they sound great. Especially after figuring out how to unstuck reeds. Also check out the Amazing 20.
Hey tommy, i started my harmonica with this stuff. For c harp is absolutely great but, the g harp often stuck on 4 draw. Anyway its great harmonica👍🏼👍🏼
Hum that probably explains why I have some difficulties on my new Easttop G Harp ! This being said I always had more difficulties to play very Low Harp as the G Harp.
@@SimonBastien defo! I have owned the c and g harp for couple of years. At the beggining of new year c harp and g harp does a good job but the g harp start doin' some trouble so i couldn't draw it instead i could blow it. The c harp are experienced some trouble too!! When i was on perform, it wont to get a draw sound instead of a blow sound. Now I shoulda lookin' for replacement.
Love them in many ways, had about 8 of them but ultimately i cant seem to get over the taste & feel, especially the cover plates. But even the comb had something about it i couldnt take rhe time to get past. Just me maybe. Lovely looking harps though!
Hi Tomlin, yeah this looks & sounds great. Is it a wood comb ? One of these weekends I'm gonna sign up for your courses.....cause I need to practice 🫣😩
Lol I couldn't find mine so I ordered a Lee Oskar, found my Special 20 before the LO arrived so now I'm gonna gift the LO to my friend for his wedding. Might have to try an East top, keep hearing good things about them.
Totally agree - that’s what I used to recommend as well. I want some long term feedback on the Easttop before I recommend it but so far I’m very impressed
@@TomlinHarmonica Easttop are very impressive out of the box. I bought two when they came out but broke reeds really quickly, and I never break reeds. There are fine for a raw beginner (price) but I'd never gig with one.
Agreed that Easttops are astonishing harps. I cannot believe how good they sound for such a low price. I have several 008 easttops but there are downsides to the cheap price. The edges are sharp. It’s almost like having a knife in your mouth. And more importantly, the reeds can choke up. It is not rare for an Easttop to choke-give you nothing but air-on blow notes. It seems Easttop reeds get overwhelmed easily. Bent notes also can have a rattle at the bottom of the bend. Here’s my final answer on 008 easttops: excellent instrument for beginners, well built, but the more experience you have, the more you rely on top shelf instruments like Hohner Crossover. Easttops are great for Bob Dylan type players/beginners who do chording but can’t solo yet.
I just bought one of these in A I know most lessons are in C but I plan to learn whammer jammer use that as my practice until it sounds good. Single notes and bend are a lot harder than you make them look
I went with a hohner marine band, but I've got an Easttop Chromatic that cost me about £45 and I was very impressed at how good it sounded - though it sounds notably worse when i play it
I own a number of Easttop models, but I use them for "blowout" practicing. They're okay, some are solid and hefty, but even those models are just for practicing.
Tomlin what model number is that? I notice they make two models. One has riveted reeds (T008K) and the other has welded reeds (T008S). I want to order one. I’m sure they are both good harmonicas but was just curious if one might be better to go with? I’m kind of assuming either one really. Looks like the combs might be a different material too?
As a beginner this has been a great harp. And I can purchase differs keys without much expense. But the taste? Yuck! I have no idea what they coat it with but I hope it's not toxic.

You should !!

Nice. Think how bad ass it will be to play a duet in heaven. Would be sweet
So where’s the updates…
How’s that hobbie going?
Just got one, and I love it! I have the special 20 and crossover, but I love this Easttop . I can't wait to really take classes full time!!
You can get them in blue or black, either are great but I'd recommend going for blue as the coating on the cover plates is smoother.

Just Got Mine With A Holder Today And In Ten Minutes I Already Can Play Piano Man By Billy Joel It Really Is A Outstanding Harmonica❤
I'm a beginner too, and I like my Easttop "G" harmonica.
Thank you! Gonna buy this one.
Is C best for beginners? Still trying to figure out how all that works before buying one lol

Special 20 👌🏻 just digging mine back out
My favorite!

I’ll stick with the Hohner special 20 that’s what JP Allen Recommends.

You are right i just got an eastop for 100$ more or less it impressed me
Which key is best to get for beginners?
C
Yes, C.
What is the best key?
C is recommended for beginners
Generally they are pretty good but the C I bought made some weird high pitched squealing on the 3 draw, doesn't happen on my Special 20
Hi could you possibly let me know what key that is please. Might be fun learning something new. Thanks
If you're getting your first harmonica and/or just starting out, nearly all instructors recommend the key of C.
Thankyou
Easttops are my favorite harps . Great response , bendability, and deep rich tone. They do not get the credit they deserve. It's a shame.
How are they in the long run?
I own a number of Easttop models, but I use them for "blowout" practicing. They're okay, some are solid and hefty, but even those models are just for practicing.
I've started with Golden Melody. Now I play play it's newest model
Sometimes the reeds(4 blow in my case) get stuck but it's solid for the price. Just got a hairstyle like yours🤜🤛
I too was impressed with east tops but I'd still stick with the very famous brand😝
What key do I get it in?
So are you saying intermediate and advanced players shouldn't play it?
bro i got the exact same brand so u might see me liking ur vids
ЗЕЙДЕЛЬ БЕСТ ОФ ЗЕ БЕСТ

Yes it is the t008k :-)
@@TomlinHarmonica Thanks bud! Appreciate ya and all your videos!! As a beginner I’ve been learning a lot from your videos. ✌️
I found this site rockingrons music.
I have 3
What about all the excess air leakage being harder to control for beginners? That's just what I've came across, not from experience.
Easttops are ace, Fender Midnight Blues is the same thing, Easttop make them for Fender.

This looks exactly like the Fender Midnight Blues harmonica.
The only difference is the logo.
Hmmm.
Is this the same as the fender midnight blues? the engraving looks the same on the covers
Exactly the same, I've got some of each.
Bros got the yoga chad jaw line
He is a giga chad😂
Meanwhile I I just bought one
small holes, oddly curved reeds and not cheap anymore
Plays in chune
That’s a C or G
It's says "C" on it
Having the other 'brand name' cut from the video makes this feel like a paid promotion.

I love Easttops.
