- In this video I confess how much I paid for my Voodoo Blue 2019 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. Not only did I pay too much, i received a lousy trade value for my 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition. Sigh…
Was dreading this video because it’s contrary to everything I preach. I always encourage finding the good deals and not overpaying… BUT here I am. Paying a premium for a color.
It’s the color I’ve always lusted after… and even though I overpaid, I couldn’t be happier to be behind the wheel of this V8 Tundra again! Far superior to the gutless 2022. =]

It’s your decision and your money. If you are happy that’s all that counts. Beautiful truck! I wanted the V8 and MGM and got extremely lucky finding one of the last new (21) ones back in April. I paid MSRP and have never done that in past. I love the truck and that’s all that counts.
I got the same one in may. I put a deposit on it in October and had to wait. But I’m very happy that I got it. I also paid msrp. I plan to keep this truck long term.
Paid $65k right after saying you wouldn't pay more than $60k lol. You are definitely untamed and sometimes unpredictable. That color is fricken sweet though. I love my super white 20 TRD PRO nothing flashy but still looks good.
Like I said… I’m not proud of this deal. BUT I wanted to be transparent with how much I paid. 😬

I bet this video hurt to post. Makes great content though. I have been checking back daily to see if you were ready to come clean. Most eagerly anticipated video to date for me. All that said, beautiful truck and if it’s what you want then it’s worth every penny.
My neighbor thinks I was crazy to pay $61,900 +TTL for a black 2021 TRD Pro with only 2,000 miles in March. It’s been 5 months and every time I see the truck I smile. Every time I start the engine I feel like a kid with a new toy.
That’s how I feel starting my 08 sequoia 5.7. Key start. Not push button. 206k miles. No issues.

It’s simple macroeconomics, supply and demand. The only reservation I’d have is the fact that you’ll be looking to sell this within the next 6 months once you get your hands on the new TRD Pro or Raptor R. At which point you’ll be lucky to get $55k for it because the used car market is cooling. Even for Pros. And yes - I own a ‘21 Pro and trading it in next week for $59k and making a profit. My opinion, great weekend vehicle but not so much as a daily driver.

Dude!!! Certified Lunar Rock 2021's with same miles are less. But that Voodoo is purty. As long as you love it and are happy all that matters! Love that you aren't afraid to share a terrible deal, like you said win some, lose some.
Haha yeah I almost bought a lunar rock with 1200 miles already with 285 Nitto ridge grapplers, trifold cover, and go rhino steps for $65K… BUT I wanted the voodoo blue this time!

Found a super white w/42k miles 19 TRD PRO but hard time swallowing the $54k sticker price, when I can get a new Tacoma for less. Thoughts expert trader and dealer?

Damn, I am super grateful that I paid $48k for my 2019 TRD Pro in white over a year ago.
On a side note, Voodoo Blue is the BEST Tundra color followed by Inferno Red hands down.

All good man, still better than the 2022. I paid 45k for a 21 tundra sport and put my own mods on it. I went into it with customization in mind.
At the end of the day it's your money. I bought my 21 lunar rock pro tundra after watching your videos. I didn't need it. I had three other vehicles. It was and is my money and I spent it the way I wanted to. I didn't then or now rely on anyone else paying my bills so if you do the same...you should spend your money the way you want to!

I think based on your experience, you won't hang on to this too long. Unfortunately the "deal", or lack thereof, may tempt you to get right back to the plus side of things. Every time I over pay for something I thought I really wanted, suddenly does not feel too good soon after the purchase. But I will keep my popcorn close by! lol

Unsolicited advice: buying cars is a dopamine rush, and like anything else can turn compulsive and/or addictive. None of us on here know your finances, and maybe this is just a drop in the bucket, but as you pointed out, this wasn't a good deal on either the buy or the sell side. Just be careful you don't get caught up in the rush of it all and continue the losing money cycle. Your truck is awesome and also what you seem to really want, so keep it for awhile and enjoy it man! Most of us here are Tundra fans and we're happy to see you get your unicorn spec.

I paid $65k for my 2021 super white pro last month with 18k miles. It’s ok man. I hear these will have crazy resell value later.
Oh well, there will always be some not so great deals among the good ones. As long as you're staying in the black at the end of the day.
There was a 2019 voodoo blue TRD Pro at a dealership bear me. Was gone in a few days. 19k miles for $62k
The market is crazy. I only paid $42k for my 2019 Tundra SR5 CM. Only has 13,000 miles. Wonder what it would go for now? Not that I would part with it….. love that truck

I paid MSRP for my last few Tundra TRD Pros. It’s about time I forked over a few more bucks for a voodoo 👍 buying a lower mile lunar rock would have saved me 5K

Yes I’ve been looking for 2021 and I live in South Florida in the market for those trucks is crazy for a few thousand dollars more I’m looking to get myself in either a new ram or Chevy ZR two I just can’t justify spending that much,for a little bit more I can get a brand new truck

I payed 62k so after tax etc it’s was 68k and add the extended warranty gold thing with the oil etc so 72k for 2020 trd pro army green with 10k miles on it in March this year and I’m still happy , good thing I pay cash lmao
Hmmmm….sounds like a classic example of buyer’s remorse. There have been quite a few times when I have suffered from that. But, when a month or so of ownership passes the symptoms have usually disappeared. Don’t worry, be 😃!

Yeah I LOVE voodoo blue… wish these model years had the upgraded tech and push to start though (introduced a year later in 2020 for each).

I don't think the price in of itself is "that" bad, just checked and TRD Pro's with ~20k miles are going for ~$59k. If it's what you want and you'll enjoy it the premium isn't that big of a deal. I just wish you'd keep the cars long enough to throoughly enjoy them, heck I'd even take long enough for the first oil change :p.
I dunno man. U got a great truck. Rare badass color. The one u wanted. And low miles. Its just money. And i can tell you enjoy the hell out of it. Beats paying 100k or what the hell ever for those issue ridden plasticky squared off 2022’s.

So here's how I justified my beat down haha. By the time I realized it was too late to buy a '21 Lunar Rock TRD Pro for msrp (as i waited for "the world beater"), the new '21's were going for 66K. A month prior they were 58.5K. I couldn't justify paying nearly 10K more for a truck I could have had at msrp just a month prior, so I bought what I really wanted, the voodoo blue trd pro. I got raped and pillaged but at least I got the voodoo blue I always wanted, and I justified my being utterly raped.....and pillaged, by at least getting that color. Basically I looked at it like a collector, like buying a Honda S2000, you pay "too much" but not really, because it's rare and it's what you want. Makes no sense but it just is what it is.
Anyway that's how I sleep at night and I've never regretted it. In fact I bask in the glory every day that I did it. At least I'm not taking it to the dealer every other week for recalls and failures. It's what I wanted and I paid the price. Could I have gotten it in '19 for less? Yes. But that was then, this is now. That's it, done.

i paid 40k on my sr5 and have used the difference between that and a trdpro to make it a better truck for my needs
SR5 4x4 with TRD off road package is way to go. Then Customize to your liking

I would have gotten the newer black Tundra with all the goodies and put a voodoo blue wrap on it. Not the same, I know, but there's no way I could justify buying an older year model for the same price.

Yea that’s not far off from what I paid for 21 LR pro. It’s already so damn outdated and I was coming from a 2020 raptor. There is no way I’d go even more outdated for more money. I don’t care what color it is .
I wouldn’t sweat the price brother. Especially as the cost of used, and new vehicles is super inflated ATM - is what it is… The mileage is low, the color, and configuration is rare, and most importantly it’s everything you wanted! As they say, “the time to buy, is when you see it”!

It’s a bullet proof truck in the color you want. I don’t think $65k is outrageous considering the market for these trucks. I see ads posted in Dallas for 2022 TRD Pros for $100k+

I sold mine for 50k with 36k miles. Bought it new for $53k.....

Why don't you just wait for the market to settle a little lol? You've had the same tundra several times so you know what its like. Overpaying for a outdated truck is odd to me but I understand the passion towards these trucks. Toyota guys are wild.

You paid 65. They gave you 97k for LC. That means they had to write you a 32k check and the tundra title off the lot.

You paid market Value. Everyone knew the 5.7 V8 Tundras would only go up in Value.....and As time goes on and everyone gets sick of the Gutless 2022 TTV6 Fake Tundra that sounds like a vacuum cleaner and drives like a Camry, the 5.7 V8 will continue to be sought after for big $$$.
Man that TTV6 does not belong in their trucks…does them no Justice. Nothing beats the roar of an iForce cold starting.
