Good job gentlemen. First time hearing y'all, nice to know y'all are in my hometown too! Just feel compelled to share this about suffering. I feel like y'all swung and missed on that question. Although I did appreciate what was said. However, that's ok cause y'all are still batting .750 (sports reference) with the other 3 areas of "trouble". Hebrew words for suffering. se-vel, makcowb, makfobah, yagah, and מַכָאֹב. Only se-vel appears as a core word in the Bible. Interestingly enough (if putting a warm fuzzy on suffering is possible.), suffering is a type of LABOR, or as I hear it in my head, a type of "paying your dues" within and for the Kingdom. "To (suffer) feel pain is to know you are truly alive". - Author unknown I could preach on this for real right now. LOL. But I humbly admit I am a nobody, I just did a quick dive and asked God for a clear answer. Perhaps this just makes me look like an ass for "trying to correct the preachers" IDK, not what I am trying to do. But for me, this helps to better understand suffering from our Creators perspective and perhaps the person that asked the question will get this message and be encouraged as well! I mean, when you consider what Jesus went through, it makes even more sense IMHO. So, If you are suffering, REMEMBER and believe in Romans 8:28. You are suffering because God wants to show (give?) you something AMAZING and once you get through your season of suffering, you will see it and THANK GOD FOR IT. NO ONE (or thing) IS IMMUNE TO SUFFERING. In the end. it's all about how you perceive it and what you do with it that matters. Guess I ended up preaching a little still anyways. LOL, sorry if I am being to abrasive, I do that to, and it drives the couple people in my life (family) crazy from time to time. I lift weights and do a lot of walking with my dogs, so good for me physically and mentally!!
