Johnatan Anderson achieves sharp contrasts, transforming the entire body into a canvas, using monochromatic palettes and a set of sensations: milky and cozy versus tight and stretched.
Plus, shiny bulky shoes that make one walk the well rehearsed walk, like an actor, yes, obviously cinematic.
Kubrick does have a critical-cynical eye over the social class he portrays. As mentioned, the decor of his movie is packed on every wall, suffocating.
The paintings themselves trigger our eyes over pittoresque, serene, well over-thought landscapes.
In this collection we see romantic and sincere decorations such as flowers and over blown prints of pink and red, smooth brushstrokes transposed into silk and constantly undulating materials.
Pallette unfolds: black, gray, pop-red, shades of purple, tempered cyan.
As Kubrick's characters look back in time with their art, JWA looks further back creating Characters Of Status to populate that art. All of a sudden, trims puffed in metallic pink or aluminum gold, start to make perfect sense.
It is back and forth, like extracting the essence of the modern, for a red dress and shoes, for oversized jackets, that make us wanna drown or get gently buried in softness, for "disgusting" red petals floating on watercolor cardigans.
Loafers, using flamboyant detailing, accessorized with bags cut-out of rather neat, geometric silhouettes.
    Impressive!
