I started getting teary-eyed seeing that 15 ft amethyst! Truly so awe-inspiring. Like an 8th wonder of the world.
And I loved hearing the process behind how Michal excavated & reinforced it. What an honor to have one of those in a museum, it's truly a work of art
Never did I think I'd be literally crying over the beauty of GIANT Amethyst Geodes but here we are and I couldn't be happier

My uncle used to have a booth there, but now my cousin runs it. They take stuff from the east to sell and they buy a lot of their merchandise there and sell at shows all over the mid-west.

great show. i hope i can visit st. marie au mines here in europe. its a pitoresk village completely dedicated to minerals. do you know it? what museum was it destined for? as i am from belgium i think its for the renewed africa museum

Ours (Rijswijk, the Netherlands) is in 2 weeks. I'm hoping to get a big orb of blue amber.
I didn’t know amber came in any color other than yellow/orange.

You're quite lucky. You should check out the Hong Gong Gem Show because while Tucson has the biggest Gem Show in America, Hong Kong has the biggest Gem Show in the world.
