- I had to read a review by a firearm blogger to find out the bolt isn't supposed to go all the way back while the safety is engaged. I had a suspicion before reading the review, but wasn't sure, since with some slightly increased force I can override that feature and chamber a round with the safety on. 🤷🏻♂️ I hope you've updated the M10X manual since 2020 to include this bit of information.
Not really.... You can run the bolt just fine with the safety on if the hammer is already down and locked into the trigger. The only time the safety prevents running the bolt is if the hammer is up AND the safety is on. It's an AK trigger group, and behaves exactly like every other AK on the planet.
- Ah, okay. That makes sense. But still, I'd have no way of knowing that from the included literature. Thank you for the reply. I chose an M10X as my first rifle, (for a number of reasons) so I didn't come into ownership with a lot of prior knowledge in other weapon systems.
Hi guys, I just purchased this rifle yesterday which I presume to be a Gen 3 as that's what my dealer told me. I put my first 140 rounds through it today and really had no issues other than one failure to eject and a light strike. Could have been the ammo I was using (PMC Bronze) Anyways my gas piston has a slight difference than the one in this video. There is a metal O-ring at the end that connects to the bolt carrier and I believe its what was stopping me from getting the the piston back into the gas tube. I had to push the piston down until the tension on the spring was at the max until it snapped in the tube. This was all after my cleaning of course. Should I be worried on my next range day?
I’m having the same problem I replaced my old recoil spring with a new one and same thing it’s different and doesn’t go in nice ! Have u figured anything out ??
The silver bolt is likely a Gen 2 as the finish was temporarily changed during covid when nitriding parts became difficult. You can always contact us through our website with your serial number or pictures of your firearm and we would be happy to identify it for you
Thank you so much for solving my problem! My gas block was not locked properly. This is just a great video.
Thank you for producing my favorite 7.62x39 you guys gained a new fanboy from me. 500rds suppressed 0 issues !
Hey guys great video. Could you do one about cleaning and lubricating the rifle?
I sure like my M10X. Thanks for that video.
Really nice simple design.
This rifle is awesome!
I’m thinking about buying one of these M+M Industries M10Xs ! They look fun to shoot !

@@BlueMarten It's discussed at about 45 seconds in this video, and there's an entry in the FAQ on our site about it.
Nice to see if m+m can make 7.62x54r or .308 rifles in the near future...
5.56 is next but we have considered .308

Hello the grip screw will not go back in. Used a standard phillips. No power tools. Cant get it back in. Just keeps spinning.
My bolt is not ejecting shells . I have the bolt apart and can’t find the issue

My bolt is silver in color. Is this one of the first generation rifles? Thanks
