This is a glittering mirage of beauty, it's like literally swimming in a pool with the sunlight glittering through the water, feeling weightless and free. This is the song that saved my life. This is Paramore
This album saved my life 6 years ago. Literally, I was a teenager and I didn't tell anyone I was struggling to depression to this album made me think I'm not Alone.
this is paramore's best album. there's so much emotion in every lyric. the melodies, the themes of each song, etc, it all just comes together perfectly. it is a classic album to me. every time i hear a song from this album, i get an urge to go listen to the entire album from start to finish, and that's exactly what i do. 11/10!
This is my favorite album of all time by any artist, and no lie, what you said is exactly what I'm doing now. I just heard Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel" and was like, "The groove on this always reminds me of Forgiveness. I'll listen to that and then get back to what I was doing." And now here I am three songs later 😂
Hard Times - 80s pop funk vibe/new wave-ish. cool. Rose-Colored Boy - 80s pop. Fun song. Told You So - 80s pop funk. cool Forgiveness - RnB-ish sounds like Pmore and Boyz2Men had a baby. amazing. Fake Happy - defo 2000s pop rock with a little indie. amazing 26 - In the Mourning + Disney = this song. emotional. Pool - a 90s Still Into You. I love it. Grudges - Owl City + Paramore. amazing Caught in the Middle - Red Hot Chili Pepper with a mixture of ska-rock. Love this track. Idle Worship - Late 2000s pop + Anklebiters No Friend - Sounds like Misfits, MCR, and Pmore had a baby. personal fave Tell Me How - Pop/RnB

I've been studying so so so so so so much for final exams and I just finished my last one today and I get to relax and listen to this. 😭😭💕 I love you Paramore. ❤️
I think this is about the ups and downs in the relationship with Chad (they weren't together during the first Parahoy in 2014 and the song 'The sound of two voices' by New Found Glory talks about unfaithfulness: "My heart seems to fail me - It put me in a stranger's bed - It hurt who I love the most) and it breaks my heart.
You're totally right, maybe these lyrics are not related to Hayley whatsoever! this is just my own assumption ;) Chad Gilbert told Alternative Press the story behind the song: "The song is about thinking more and knowing that maybe what we think we want for ourselves isn't always what's best for ourselves. Being vulnerable to your weaknesses. Not being afraid to have limitations that are good for you."
this is one of the darkest albums I've ever heard Edit: this is one of the darkest albums I've ever heard from them. Should've made it clear 3 years earlier.
This is one of the best songs from the band, the melody fits so much the tittle and the lyrics hurts like hell if you have been into that position, but also brought me so much relief when I was going through those dark times in my last relationship, this entire album for me is how depressesion hits, the lyrics are always heavy and dense, and the melodies always bright just like a shell hiding the truth
I came here to say something similar but your comment was spot on. Although I can’t listen to this album as much as I would like to anymore because it triggers some really horrible memories, AL was my therapy along with my real therapist 🥲
Listening to the album for the first time, I thought this was the only song without depressing undertones in its lyrics and thought this was pretty much just a love song. But I looked at the poetry that is Hayley's writing and found what it's saying: she's in a relationship that hurts, one that makes it hard to breath ("with no air in my lungs"), but she's so in love that, despite knowing it isn't good for her, she doesn't care (like diving "headfirst into shallow pools"). "If I survive, I'll dive back in." Man, I'm so in love with this band, especially with them talking (literally) about their hard times before the release of this album. Turning pain into poetry. Breathtaking.
This is my favorite on After Laughter. The bells/chiming are so OH MYYGAWWDD And i seriously love every part of this! Every verse, the chorus..the bridge. Omg im freakin out why must Paramore be so talented?!
When your trying to sing all the new songs but you have no idea what the lyrics are so you find one lyric you know and just yell it every time it's at that part :)))))
I'm not sure how you managed to combine two different 90s vibes, but the synth sounds of the verses and the echoy harmonies of the chorus work so so well
I love everything about this song. I love in the start its a cute melody, I would say its even childish. But then it starts to get darker and darker. And in the chorus they make it happy but then they hit you with more dark melodies
no matter how far I stray from paramore when they don't release new music, I will always come back. forever my favorite band since 2008, I adore everything they do. thank you for not making me feel so alone all these years. 💓
For the longest time, Idol Worship and Caught In The Middle were my favorites from this album, but I think I'm ready to admit that Pool is my favorite now lol

Tayde Rivera Tayde Rivera actually this song relates to Proof "Come up for air just so you know we won't drown" Hate to see your heart break is about TYork. Proof and Pool are about the asshole Chad Gilbert. Hayley wrote Proof to show the world that she & Chad are totally okay with each other. And then he treated her like shit so that's why we have Pool.
Omg everything about this song is awesome. Those bells/windchime things make me see all the beauty in the world all in one song. Definitely gonna be playing this until i hate it.
I just convince myself the single/album drops whatever time i wake up in the morning. It honestly is a fantastic way to start a day. The day this album came out was just such a bright happy day bc of it lol
I love every song on AL but this one is so overlooked by people! My favorite. This song to kick start the second half of the album after 26 is life-giving.
this song, and the rest of after laughter, is, in my opinion, the best that paramore has ever put out. every song makes you hurt, but in a good way. thank you, hayley, taylor, and zac, for this.
Thank you Paramore, for this album. Whenever I get depressed, I listen to this album. This album makes me see the truth that the world isn't perfect. You just have to survive, that's all that matters. Nothing else really does. This album really is a work of art.

I work at a grocery store that has this song on the playlist and hearing the beginning of this song play over the speaker system sorta creeps me out a bit since store speakers are always a bit muffled. Pretty neat.
I still can’t figure out why I love this song. It hooked me out of nowhere when this album came out and I haven’t stopped listening on repeat. I’m not even that big of a Paramore fan!
I listened each song of this album a masterpiece in my opinion and makes me remember a phase in my life feeling bad in a job hoping I could learn English to get a better one. The whole album make me remember that phase in my life and analyze how much I changed. I have a better job, my second language is English and feeling more happy about my life ❤

I can heavily relate to this. I feel the sparkles whilst i'm drowning at the bottom of the pool. This album saved my life too.
Isn't this song about abusive relationship? 👀

As if the first cut wasn't deep enough

Could've gotten the same rush from any lover's touch
But why get used to something new?
'Cause no one breaks my heart like you

For a moment, I could forget what happens in my head
If I doubt you, would you come through?
Happy second chance or happy ending
But this time you don't leave me sinking
[Chorus]
I'm underwater
No air in my lungs
My eyes are open
And I'm giving up
You are the wave
I could never tame
If I survive
I'll dive back in
[Verse 2]
As if the first blood didn't thrill enough
I went further out to see what else was left of us
Never found the deep end of our little ocean
Drain the fantasy of you
Headfirst into shallow pools
[Pre-Chorus 2]
And I wonder, is it better to get it over with?
The illusion, can shatter before we begin
If you're really sorry
Happy second chance, think I could forgive
This time you won't leave me sinking
[Chorus]
I'm underwater
No air in my lungs
My eyes are open
And I'm giving up
You are the wave
I could never tame
If I survive
I'll dive back in
[Bridge]
Dive back into
Right back into
Dive right back into you
Now I know you
Now I know you
Now that I know you
Dive right back into you
Back into
Right back into you
Dive right back into you
Now I know you
Now I know you
Now that I know you
Dive right back into you
[Chorus]
I'm underwater
No air in my lungs
My eyes are open
And I'm giving up
You are the wave
I could never tame
If I survive

My favorite Paramore song from all time
34 weeks pregnant and my little boy always wiggles to paramore !! good boy
How is he going now?
what about now
How about now?
And now?
also now?
Damn, this song SO explains the thought process of wanting to reconnect with someone who hurt you, but your over it now
Its already 2023 but After Laughter is still my fave album ✨
All we know is falling
my friend just politly told me she doesnt like me anymore and doesnt wanna be friends when all ive done is supported her and love her, so im glad this popped up in my rec :]
Dive right back into you 😍 new paramore!!!
don't you love it when you find a song that perfectly fits the way your feeling at a moment? that feeling is this song for me
I just found this album in September 2019. I'm in love. Describes everything I was going through in 2017 when it came out.
*2 years ago this album saved my life.* I'm not even kidding, thank you God for putting Paramore in my way 💖
And the Grammy for Album of the Year goes to.....
PARAMORE!
Seems like Grammys go more mainstream music. As much as paramore deserves that award I doubt they will get it.
Didn’t even get one nomination, fuck the Grammys
celiawesome I wish they did give them this award. They didn't get one nomination! NOT ONE!
listening to this after Hayley's breakup !!! hope she's okey
*tries so hard not to answer with a song title from 2004*
IM NOOT OOOKAYYY *cries in emo*
she doesnt know you. fuck off stalker
@@Jourmand1r they weren't even being creepy, I agree that people should respect boundaries but all the op was doing was caring about a person they look up to.
This song is so underrated and this is one of my favorites from Paramore! I still remember how I used to listen to this song on repeat.
I work at a grocery store that has this song on the playlist and hearing the beginning of this song play over the speaker system sorta creeps me out a bit since store speakers are always a bit muffled. Pretty neat.
OH MY GOD I'M NOT SCREAMING!!! WHAT IS THIS? I WASN'T READY ASJLDALSDJLASK
Facundicio Osuna yo tampoco!! :o
No se si escuchar todo o controlar la ansiedad hasta mañana!! :O
Facundicio Osuna escúchalo todo!!! jajaja 😱
I have a better job, my second language is English and feeling more happy about my life ❤
This has to be about chad... We're here for you Hayley 💕
Heard this on a chairlift while skiing, took me over an hour to find this song and I'm so glad I did, it was literally magical.
best song in the album by far
this is arguably the best song on this album

Definitivamente es mi canción favorita de After Laughter, me encantó el álbum 🖤
