What is impressive is the continuous improvement Tesla has shown across its range over the last few years. It is heading towards an unbeatable proposition, provided you can put up with the UI/UX (I can’t). You really wonder why you would now buy some of the much more expensive so called premium brands.
continuous cost cutting presented as improvement. No parking sensors, no stalks, no turn indicators, no speedo, no hud, no tactile discovery safe physical controls, just cheap cost cutting mania. Not for me, I've avoid this brand as long as their zero cockpit minimalism continues. In this transition era the market has now passed the early adopter phase, and is in the early majority phase of adoption, with users who want a car interior that has a drivers cockpit they are used to and that is safe. Euro NCAP to downgrade the safety rating of offset touch screen display dependent cars such as this from next year.
@@oceanfroggie You have listed the bits I do not like in detail. However compared to earlier versions in this and their other models, they just keep getting better. At some point in the next few years I might even want to buy one. At the moment i prefer something from Mini, Smart, or Alfa - not necessarily in that order.
The car is great, I drove just fossile cars until 2017 when I got an X. Then got into the 2019 3P, sold it in 2023 and got into the 2023 YP (Berlin). However I missed the Model 3 Performance, so when the 3PH came, with a 500kg hitch, better dampers and good sound insultation, I had to go back to the 3P. So now rocking a red 3P 2024 🙂Really love the car! Its really fun to drive, stereo even better than before.
Sorry are you recording on the selfie camera? Why is everything on the wrong side? 😅 Jokes aside, first time on this channel, the cars looks pretty amazing in this colour, and let me tell you it's even more sexier irl! Gosh it was so admireable once I saw one of those here in California 🤤
Nice car, but just not for me. I think Tesla hide behind this idea of "minimalism" to save on production costs. Simple things like no indicator stalk or a basic HUD are missed opportunities. Granted, their software is top class, but I drive a BYD Seal Performance. After test driving both, the BYD was for me. Felt more luxurious and love the design. Again, not for everyone, and it's always a relative risk going with a relatively new brand in Ireland, but no regretting my decision as of yet. Great review by the way.
Most people (including Derek) get used to the indicators in a few hours driving. HUD can be added if you really want it but just as many people appreciate the better visibility. Aftermarket for Tesla 3/Y is incredibly comprehensive to make it how you want it.
It’d be strange company that didn’t optimise the implementation of their design and engineering to cut production costs, let alone ‘hide behind’ the application of said engineering. The fact that the old school manufacturers can’t produce anything near as good for 50% more and still lose $thousands on each vehicle sold is a sad indictment on their prowess and even more, the gullibility of the ICE fan boys
Professional vid as ever Derek. Tesla still not for me personally until they have a safe drivers cockpit. The transition era has now passed the technically aware early adopter phase, but is it now in the early majority adopter phase, who expect a conventional drivers cockpit, hence more astute consumers buying legacy brands with familiar higher quality interiors rather than M3/MY IKEA blank interior style. Continuous cost cutting for manufacturing process is not continuous improvement, not for drivers anyway.
I'm a big fan of Tesla and they are some of the safest cars on the road (Obviously not if you drive like an idiot) But I honestly hate the zero stalks concept and the swipe to drive etc it's just a pointless gimmick, Also I wish they would bring back the Model X to Ireland I have a 2020 Model X but I'm still annoyed my Plaid Model X order was cancelled 😢
3.1s 0-60??? Who needs that sort of accelartion anymore in Ireland with our motorways? Most drivers don't understand how to handle that anyway. The days of needing good acceleration to get out and passed 3 unassertive drivers following 3 HGVs on the N8 or N6 single carriageway roads are long gone. Now just stick the car in cruise control and relax, the car takes the fatigue out of motorway trips. As others have said nice car but not for me personally as long as the car lacks a drivers cockpit with safe controls. Touchscreen mania may be marketed as innovation, but in truth is just cheap cost cutting and a worse user interface compared to decades of evolution of tactile discovery controls.
@@Skeetskeet333 Is that because in Europe its 3.1s 0-62mph (ie 100kph), so 2.9s is actually the same. Insanely unnecessary acceleration for a non-track car mainly driven on highways, motorways and autoroutes where overtaking is easy and safe. See insurance costs rocket as many drivers are not experienced enough to handle 3.1 or 2.9 except in a dead straight line on a bone dry hard surface.
@@oceanfroggieit is a track focused car, it has a track mode. Same unnecessary comments could be posted on reviews of many legacy manufacturers for their ICE performance cars 🤷.

How do you afford a Model X!? They're literally so expensive!! Also, if you have FSD, can you get the beta, e.g. V12.5
