    Heads up for anyone looking for this in 2024/2025 - the “ServiceNow Fundamentals” class was replaced with “ServiceNow Administrator Fundamentals”.
    If you’re just looking for basics for free. They’re recommending the “Welcome to ServiceNow” course. It’s also recommended to take this before the the admin fundamentals course so you know the basics.

    Thank you for the great video! I will be watching more. I passed my CSA last month and heading into working on my CAD certification, but I am confused on whether it's required to purchase the CAD fundamentals course and the Scripting fundamentals course to be able to receive the voucher for taking the CAD exam.

      You're welcome and I'm glad you found it helpful. I definitely have several other videos as well that I think you'll like. One related to what to know as a new CSA, and then one of my latest videos related to 10 secrets to know after obtaining your CSA to become a top-tier admin. For your question related to CAD and the voucher, I don't necessarily think everyone should go that route after CSA as CAD helps you learn custom applications, but core SN knowledge may be more beneficial and with that, I'd say consider the ITSM Implementation Specialist cert. For CAD though, you would only need to take the "Application Development Fundamentals" course, whether on demand or instructor let. Here's the on demand link: nowlearning.servicenow.com/lxp/en/now-platform/application-development-fundamentals-on-demand?id=learning_course_prev&course_id=1dc30bf6c3a2b914cfdf34ee050131b9

      @@Allenovation Hi Allen, thank you for this information. I think I may look at the ITSM route as soon as I go through the CAD fundamentals course and pass that since I did already pay for it. Thanks for this video. Good to have someone like you in this space. I understand it's not recommended to rely on a 3rd party mock exam contents to use for practice. However, does ServiceNow have it's own online platform where one can access a sizeable amount of past questions, as well as use-cases, just for practice? Thanks again,👍

    • @Allenovation
      @Allenovation  Год назад

      Hi, unfortunately, no. There isn't a repository of past questions to that effect. There are some sample questions within the ServiceNow CSA Blueprint document, but that's about it. Just be careful when studying and practicing with those 3rd party sites, that's all :)

    Hey Allen, thank you for your videos. I just came across servicenow recently and I was really excited to start on this journey and I had prepared myself to pay for the $300 voucher however I noticed that there is also a fee for the CSA fundamentals training and I was wondering if it's possible to us third party resources(lol, I do remember what you said about them) and then register for the exam.
    It's just to expensive and to be honest with you, I really want to get it. If it's possible, how could one get a voucher since they haven't completed the training on nowlearning.
    Thank you, shoutout from South Africa.

    • @Allenovation
      @Allenovation  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi, and wow, thank you for tuning in alllll the way from South Africa! Unfortunately, for the voucher situation, ServiceNow has it locked behind the course. Meaning, in order to even get the ability to buy the voucher, you have to complete the pre-requisite course. If you end up being employed with a ServiceNow partner, you get the course and voucher for CSA for free (not all vouchers are free with partners, but CSA is one), but for those new and seeking to get their first job, etc. yeah, you'd have pay for and take the ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals (SNAF) course and then pay for and claim the voucher after.
      Some have asked if ServiceNow will run any other promotions (like they did about 2-3 years ago) when they offered it for free and unfortunately, I don't see that happening anytime soon. If you get accepted into one of the NextGen programs, I believe they also get the course and voucher for CSA for free as well, but...that's about all I'm aware of at this time.
      The course and voucher price is definitely a barrier to entry, but, I can say, if you make continued investments into yourself, it will pay off in the long run. It doesn't remove the sting of paying for it now, but rest assured, it's a great long-term investment, in my opinion!

      @@Allenovation , I wanted to ask this same question but since someone has asked it, I would seek more clarification on it. Im also a beginner in SN. The ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals On Demand course is currently $500. Meaning if you add the $300 for exam voucher, that's $800. My question is, does it mean you CANT register for the CSA exam if you don't have the voucher? Im aware you have opined against using third party resources such as Udemy to learn, but the cost is way prohibitive to me because Im currently a student and I was thinking if i can sweat myself through use of third party resources to learn, practice by doing small projects and then go ahead and register for the exam. That would probably reduce the cost by half. So, can I register for the exam without the voucher and or completing the on demand fundamentals on serviceNow learning? Your response will be highly appreciated

      @@Henry-uk3ie Great question. You must have the ServiceNow voucher to take ANY certification exam. You can see it for yourself when logging into your ServiceNow Webassessor account and try to add one of the certification exams to your cart and checkout. It'll say you must have a ServiceNow voucher to take it initially.

    I'm in a SN sponsored program that prepares you for CSA and Implementation Specialist (a mix of virtual ILT and on demand courses). However I see I am going to do a lot of studying to be prepared for the exam and confident to move into a sys admin role. What would you say is a good study timeline for a tech newbie?

    • @Allenovation
      @Allenovation  2 года назад +1

      Hi, congrats on making it into that program as it’s definitely a rare opportunity! That’s exciting! So in a realistic timeline, to truly understand the platform and the foundational aspect, the on demand course says 15 hours, but of course that’s just the material. For studying, just for CSA, it’ll probably be another 10+ hours of additional study time. Again, the goal, in my opinion, is to truly know the material and not just memorizing. The CSA exam is a lot of terms and so there is a flash card way you could approach it, but the CSA knowledge is foundational to everything else. Most who rush through the course, and crash study it in a few days, may do fine on the exam, but days and weeks after, they’ve forgotten the material. Everyone learns differently, but if you can, I’d recommend enjoying your time in the program, soak up as much as you can, take notes, and get your free developer instance to practice. Search SN documentation for any terms or concepts you’re struggling with, collaborate with your peers, and post on the SN community forums if needed. Moving into CIS-ITSM, believe it or not, most say it’s easier than CSA. Because the scope is more narrow and you get away from just all those terms and such with CSA. Keep us posted on how you do? Best of luck!!!

    Great Information Allen.
    Quick question : I completed the 'servicenow fundamentals' course in 2021 my admin certification is currently expired.(quebec)
    If i have to attend the 'scripting fundamentals course' in 2022, do i need to keep my admin certification upto date or will just the fundamentals course completion is enough (though the mainline admin cert is expired).
    Thank you in advance !

    • @Allenovation
      @Allenovation  2 года назад +1

      Hi, the ServiceNow Fundamentals course is only a "recommended" prerequisite for the Scripting Fundamentals course. So you'll be fine and able to attend that with no issue. You don't have to have the Sys Admin Cert or even have needed to take the ServiceNow Fundamentals course at all, technically.
