  • Fans of the San Francisco Giants love seeing highlight-reel plays, circus catches, and Splash Hit home runs; but, the real work happens behind the scenes before the first pitch is even thrown. Offseason training camps, like the 2023 Oracle Park Camp, provide an opportunity for Giants prospects to work with the organization's strength and conditioning staff to both learn the correct ways to train and prepare, but also to catch a potential glimpse of their Major League future at Oracle Park.
Little League, high school, and youth baseball players and coaches can use this video as inspiration and motivation to help prepare any athlete for the next level of competition.

Drew Robinson. He was a Giants prospect that survived serious mental health issues that cost him hs baseball future, but he overcame them and is now the Mental Health Advocate in the video for new players.@@LaMonteWade31

lol, an article about Cal Ripken Jr. Dude just played basketball, lifted a few weights and ate Mom's food.
_Cal said, "We didn't have all the different nutritional information and didn't have all the resources but you knew that you had to work out and build your body up to withstand the 162-game season. I did it in a very aggressive sort of way. I played basketball as part of my fun and explosive sort of activities. I started learning to lift weights and do that on my own. I built a gym in my house so I could do all those things. The diet is just common sense and regular eating with the basic 4 food groups that my mom gave me when I left the house. A lot of common sense and a good healing power, I think."_

A lot of the static stretching and unloaded movements they were doing seem pointless unless they have specific injuries they are trying to deal with, which I'm assuming not all of them do (otherwise that is a seriously compromised and fucked up team). Most of the actual strength, sprinting, and baseball practice parts seemed good. A bit of jogging is fine, but baseball seems like a sport to focus on sprinting, agility and explosive rotational power. Any work with the medicine ball that is not done with maximum effort is pointless for them. Overall, very confusing and probably less effective than it could be.
