    George just like you this was my first ever trip to York. What a great experience even though it was a little overwhelming. I had a great time and I’m glad you did as well.

      Thank you Steven! It was very nice and I'm glad that I went. So many trains and great products to see. It was also just nice talking with everyone that i met. It's a great hobby, although it's an expensive one. If only we could buy all of the really cool trains that we really want. That would be awesome!

    Hey George. Sorry I missed you at York. I flew in from Houston, with combined flight times of about 5 hours, excluding layovers, drive times to and from the airports, etc…. I think the effort to get there was well worth the time. I spent several hours Friday in Strasberg at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, National Toy Train Museum, etc… Well worth the side trip. Thanks for sharing.

    • @trainwild
      @trainwild  Год назад +1

      Hi Scott, no problem! Wow, I hope that both of your flights went nice and smooth. Although it would have been nice to have met you at York, I'm sure your side trip at the Strasburg Railroad Musuem, and the National Toy Train Museum was well worth it! I have never been to either of them, and it seems that I should make a trip to visit them real soon! Thanks for recommending them and commenting on my video. I really appreciate it! 😀

    If you never been a train show. York is a good start. I been four times, if you can do it in the fall, try the three day pirate meets, overwhelming may not be the word.

    Hello George. It was a great show and meeting you was a pleasure. Hope you can make it to the fall show. I to think meeting all the wonderful people is the best part of the show. I think it is better than buying new things. Talking about trains has a way of bringing people together. Take care, Chris

    Hi George! Going to pick your brain(and your subscribers) custom paint work on engines. I heard good reports about a guy- Hendricks? At the York show. I can't remember the name...

    • @trainwild
      @trainwild  Год назад +1

      Hi Toni! I did see some very nice weathered rolling stock, but I did not catch the name of the outfit that weathered them. Hmm.. 🤔 you got me thinking now of who can do good custom paint on engines. I bought one of my steam engines pre-weathered from Lionel, and it was weathered by a man named Harry Hieke. Lionel had hired him directly to pre-weather locomotives. (You can view my weathered Lionel steam locomotive in some of my videos). His business card came with the engine, and his email address is: Harrys_Trains@comcast.net and his number is (856) 625-5506
      I hope this helps!

    Thanks George!! We had a lot of fun in York. We too were a bit lost on where to go! The 12 hour trip to PA was a lot, but We got to spend some quality time with family. meeting you and other RUclips train people was so much fun! It's such a great hobby that is more than just the trains!😊

      Your welcome Toni!! I'm glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed York as much as I did. I am very happy that I went and met so many nice people. I just wish that I would have taken some photos of my own! I hope that you found everything you were looking for. The JT Mega Steam smoke fluid is just awesome, and I use it on all my trains. They really have so many great scents and one of my favorites is Christmas pine. It's really cool. 😎Thanks again it was nice meeting you!

    no map of the halls is a negative. I know people who never made it to some halls

    • @trainwild
      @trainwild  Год назад

      Hi Shelly, You are absolutely right and I couldn't agree with you more. There should have been directories and signage posted leading to all the halls. The printed online maps were not enough. I had to ask people several times to help me find my way around, and there were others who were asking as well. This definitely needs improvement.
