The Cons of using Wise to transfer money from US or Canada to Spain

Thanks great info which I was not aware of. I am thinking of retiring next year and moving to Spain. Question: When you transfer cash from your bank account to WISE- did you setup your US bank account info with Wise to transfer cash using the WISE system or did you setup your US bank account number with WISE account info to transfer to WISE using your US bank account like Billpay?

Regarding your question, you connect Wise to your local bank account from Wise directly. You select the bank and it links the bank to your account. Then you just request a transfer. I think it is similar to Billpay in that sense.

You said that Wise is not the best method for transferring a larger amount of money, such as to buy a property. What would you use instead, for these larger amounts?

I would use a normal bank to local bank international wire.
