- Mario Kart Racing in real life at the Skyline Rotorua Luge! One of the most fun things to do in New Zealand. The Rotorua luge is part of Skyline bike park in Rotorua, New Zealand. There are 3 different courses that include an intermediate and advanced course as well as a scenic route overlooking the city. Joining me in this video are Marc Diekmann, Erik Fedko, Anthony Messeri and more!

Nick Sacco yeah the US can be pretty strict on things like this. Would be so cool though in like mammoth or Colorado somewhere
@ Nick Sacco They're called "alpine slides" and you'll find them on most tourist mountain areas such as new hampshire, vermont, colorado, utah, etc. Though I haven't seen many this well organized and maintained.
@ Nic Hilton Just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they don't exist, and it has nothing to do with the US being "pretty strict". Any business can get liability insurance and have you sign a waiver. If someone can easily run a business where people literally fire paintballs at each other at 300feet per second, sliding down a hill on a low profile skateboard with handlebars at 30mph is pretty tame.

Leonard J Krabs it’s different from an alpine slide actually. I’ve been to a lot of alpine slides in the US. There is no luge like this in the US. Sorry.

I went on this a few years back exact place and everything and they were so fun apart from on one run around a turn someone crashed into me and I went sliding out of my kart didnt get that hurt just cuts and bruises , very fun tho!!

I remember doing this. Man it was fun! But those things are hard to drive. You have to keep the steering wheel pushed forward to keep the luge going. And if you don’t do it hard enough you stop and then other luge rides come from back and crash into you and it’s not fun.
Actually dude the front of luge sits on the ground you pull handle bars back which lifts front up off ground and starts rolling, now pulling bars back more will apply braking to rear wheels, too the point of locking the rears ups 👍🏼 whereas the other way by letting the handle bars fall forward to far will drop front onto ground and especially at speed which in turn will cause injury. Not good 😕

Rotorua, New Zealand. I just did this yesterday afternoon. So much fun I had 2 goes at it. Had some pretty experienced runners the second time round, kept up for half the course then they really took off and left me behind lol

No doubt that is fun but I would like to see real races from these karts (like soap box) but it seems (according rules) no bumping, no racing and full other no。Maybe I should create my own 5 km circuit long with full of curves、obstacles、angles、unlimited speed。The only rule : having real fun ! Gondola is $35 and 5 Luge rides is $68. The thing is you have to take the Gondola regardless no other access.
