Just imagine if world leaders and or politicians could learn from the likes of Dan Carter. Not only a Rugby GOAT but a well spoken, thoughtful gentleman. I wish him all the best for the future. Dan, think hard about becoming a Referee !!!!

Dan missed a World Cup final in 2011 and came back for what would be his last final alongside Richie McCaw. That he kept working towards the 2015 World Cup and then to reach that final was just an amazing display of resilience and consistent hard work. The Legacy book was incredible. Amazing that they bring black belts in karate, SAS soldiers and other experts to talk to them about playing and succeeding under pressure.
You would think that the All Blacks wouldn't need that mental fortitude enhancement but they did and that's why they succeed.

Brilliant watch. Best player I have seen, always assumed it was just natural born talent. But, watching this, I realise how it was equally Dan’s application. That application driven by a very conscious, purposeful approach to being better.

I grew up playing rugby from the age of 15 and Dan was my hero, now at 31 after watching this podcast... I realise that he is still my hero. Everything he uses is completely transferable to modern day life and it's honestly humbling to hear he suffers from the same feelings we all suffer from. Amazing podcast, and it's great to see Dan doing so well in life after rugby.

I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast and have probably learnt more from this hour or so with Dan Carter than I have from reading numerous leadership books over the years. Thanks guys for making this happen!!

I feel like this current crop of All Blacks are at the same cross roads as DC, Richie McCaw stood at in 2007. A young group expected to win but aren't delivering in big pressure games when the talent is certainly there to bowl anyone over.

One of my favourite podcasts to date. I’ve been spending time going back to episodes that I’ve missed, and I’m so glad I caught up on this one. Dan Carter was so interesting, listening to his answers its clear to see why he was as successful as he was, driven, hard working, focused… What a legend, and what a nice guy. Great episode guys, enjoyed that conversation immensely.

Not sure what I expected. Loved Dan’s honestly. When I think back to your chat with Jonny W, and his way of thinking about legacy, it’s seems there is a huge contrast between two of the greatest players of the game.
Dan’s focus on strength of mind, tellingly tries to mirror Jonny narrative of his goal of becoming the greatest.
Clearly Dans cares about maintaining durable excellence to meet his goals through embracing and leaning into pressure through preparation, or what Jonny might describe as flow and being fully engaged in every moment.
Fascinating conversation because it shows how in reality: the self experience of any task is more important than the task.
    Thanks chaps.

A lot of parallels between them, but I listened to Jonny who talks about not enjoying playing. I sense with Dan and his simple conscious reminder to enjoy the game may have meant he was successful and enjoyed the journey. Jonny I think has come to his realisation of enjoyment later after rugby.
