- Today we take a few minutes and dive deep with my pal David Newbern. Newbern is a hot rodder through and through and we became fast friends last year on Hot Rod Power Tour.
We talk cars, future plans and just have an overall good time.

Newbern's comment about the bucket list of cars changing constantly is so on point! I fall in love with different cars constantly. Luckily I don't have the space, or the wherewithal, to buy them all.
Dan is moving up in the world! I predict Motortrend will come calling, good to see the hard work and dedication paying off

Newbern is the real deal! A genuine soul! His personality is rock solid! Wish he was my friend. There is a 34, 3 window in Duluth mn. It is black and done up like the "California Kid".

Great video, guys. Living a good life hanging out with good friends and family and talking about old cars. I watch a lot of RUclipsrs and motortrend, and there is only a handful that I am excited to meet, and you two are on that list for me, very much appreciated this moment with you both so ty for that.

That looks like a cool episode coming up. We built a '74 Honda CVCC in high school with a SBC and Powerglide, a bit bigger car than that N600 but not much. That thing ripped, but handled like an oil tanker, not being desiged for SBC weight, what a deathtrap for a 16 years old kid, it was the best! I am guessing theirs is Hayabusa powered or something?

One thing to remember if you want a 2 door wagon is that the Pontiac Safari and Star Chief tri-five wagons are pretty much the same thing - without the Hotrod tax. The Buick and Oldsmobile wagons from the same time are very pretty too.

If I was granted one hot rod for the rest of my life it would be my late uncles 32 coupe flat black wide T bucket wheels on the back with a 468bbc th400. I remember seeing that car light the tires up and skate sideways down the highway. RIP uncle Ronnie.

Love the hunt for project cars, or cars parts etc... I drove over 10 hrs from MI to N.C. to buy my 71 Pontiac Lemans GT-37 from a glory hole junkyard! Sometimes the hunt is the most satisfying part.

Really great conversation between you guys...and I'm right there with you. My list of cars I want is always evolving...I've had a lot but always more I've never owned and want. And road tripping to get what you want is just part of it and keeps getting worse. Last big one was 12 hours one way. But don't regret it at all

My 1st car was a 1970 Duster ,340 Engine ,white with black checkered trim ,Magnesiun Mag wheels .. I paid $500 for it in 1985 & Drove it away . That wont happen now only in your Dreams! Nice Interview with David Newbern & Cool you've been Hanging out in the States!

My dad in the 1960s had two tri-five Chevrolets Belair's that he street raced both painted Peanut Butter Brown one was called jiffy the other was called Skippy a 55 and 56 Chevy Belair's
