Also I watched the Adepticon Final last night and it was the same matchup. Adepticon terrain is awful so that matchup was over based on who goes first so it just accentuated how this edition has gone. This game was a much better game to watch than the supermajor final as a resultthough credit to Nass and Arne they were also really fun, just not in a way you can monetise on youtube.

@@Fjordgnu Every army is like that in some aspect though unless they are bottom tier. Any army above 50% W/R has a phase, unit, ability, scoring potential, etc that makes things suck.

Because they can reroll their own charges, and the damage seems pretty reliable, so I wouldn't have thought saving a CP was really necessary. Then again, I forgot they do only hit on 4s when I started typing, so I may have just answered my own question... 41:38 Pretty sure Void Armour preventing wound rerolls includes CP rerolls. Not like it changed anything in the moment, but Bard should have another CP
Brilliant game guys, quick note, if beard would have based the leman Russ in combat with the Hekaton and kept the Kahl just in engagement range, I'm pretty sure he would have benefitted from look out sir so couldn't have been hit with the flamers (not that it would have made a difference to this outcome but something to think about) Solid game as usual 💪

Bard's list will be cut to pieces against deep striking melee armies. So far i found prefectus order that makes enemies deploy more then 12" away instead of 9" a life saver. 4 vanquishers with élite sharpshooter instead of born soldiers do more damage then a gatekeeper and 3 plasma executioner combined just because they doesn't allow the enemy to save anything. Mortal wounds are useful also on 3 wounds heavy infantry because they splash like Age of Sigmar.

Before watching the game. I am worried that the guard doesn't have anywhere near enough infantry.... you generally need 8/10 squads as a bare minimum. I think you will do OK against votan, but you will struggle against any fast combat armies because you have no screening. Looking forward to watching the game.
This game is a showcase of why I don't run the Magna-Rail on the tank. The number of times I will roll a 1 to hit with a 1-shot weapon cannot be understated. If Beard had hit just one time with that gun, he would have won. To put that into perspective for everyone. Until they boost toughness in 10th edition. I see no reason to not run the other options. Especially considering the judgement token mechanics making weapon strength irrelevant at three tokens. Number of shots beats strength in shots with this army, imo.
Both of these codex are over tuned, Bard you need a tank commader with the vanquisher cannon, give him Knights of Piety my teammate ran it at adepticon and it was very very good.
A guard list pretty similar to this (no RG but their Horse Leader guy, that MW bomb squad and some mortar teams) took out over 1000pts of my Necrons turn 1. They're disgusting if you ask me, they kill anything they look at. Only the resilience of Warriors kept the game interesting. He tabled me and the next two guys he played tldr: I don't think guard are well balanced
Votann 5++ invun for a whole army no downsides XD GW .. my favorite balance masters. I really hope blanket army wide invuns and auto wounding will not be a thing in 10th. 2 rounds of nerfs and dwarfs are still disgusting 😆😅

Are the two 4's with vengeful salute not hits? Model gets a BS of 5+, but they are shots with a turret weapon.
They're also in Engagement Range, applying a -1 to Hit. All rules still apply, despite what these latter 9th Ed Codexes would want 😅

Sagitaurs split after the game starts and count as two sperate units. i couldnt tell if beard was using them as one unit or two

How is it lame? The meta is kasrkin mortal wound spam and mortars, full tanks is not the meta at all.
Full tanks without infantry will always lose games. You need screens and units to make actions.
