I'm the only Milwaukee user in my shop, the other guys use Snap-on and Matco. My tools have been far more reliable, and when I have had to warranty (after 2 years of use), it's free shipping both ways and about a week turnaround. The Snap-on and Matco often fail within 1 year, warranty repair takes weeks. If the tool truck guy doesn't already have his loaner, loaned out, he will give the mechanic something to use. Fellow mechanic had to warranty his 3/8" Snap-on battery ratchet three times in one year, his 1-year warranty is now up. I've had to warranty my 3/8" Milwaukee battery ratchet too, but very happy to have years of warranty left. I have M12 and M18 batteries, no problems with battery fitment. 5+ years of use. I take good care of my tools though, including not dropping the powered tools.
I had a customer tell me he doesn’t really care about warranty because no matter what down time costs him money that was a combine buts it’s the thing with tools if it doesn’t work you can’t make money with it
Great vid CP! My coworker and reviews got me into Milwaukee. He has the 12 volt line and has been using the same tools since 2013. He also uses off brand copy batteries with no issues. Other than the clips not liking being dropped of course. 9 years with no failures is a good track record imo. But there are lots of good options for us nowadays! There is no wrong answer really. :)
The tabs on the Milwaukee batteries are so incredibly brittle. I never had issues with their batteries..until I did lol. Once they got alot of wear it would stop in the middle of impacting then the battery lights would flash. As you said the 14.4 batteries fit tight enough that I put dielectric grease on the top of the battery so itll slide off the terminals a little easier. You actually got me goin with dewalt. I have the dcf902 and I love it. It's not a powerhouse but it fits in alot of places and most of all it's very damn affordable. Good video cp
TTI make Milwaukee Ridgid and Ryobi. Ridgid has the lsa lifetime service agreement. I've had to send out 2 tools. The first took me 5 weeks to get a new one back and currently waiting on info on the second
Brand loyalty is marketing at it's peak performace. Companies want your money, nothing more nothing less. Anyone of our favorite companies regulary screw people over. No warranty is guaranteed, a brand only has to please enough people to keep the marketing hype train rolling. You can find people who have been screwed over by any and every brand. Also, nobody has perfect quality control. Regardless of how much the tool costs. I have some 1/4 SnapOn sockets, several in the set are completely missing the detent cuts that hold the socket to the ratchet or extension. I've never seen poor quality control this bad on any of my Tiawan sockets. I realised a long time ago you don't always get what you pay for. Sometimes you get less, but sometimes you get more. And warranties I look at as a possible bonus, but not make or break factor for my purchase. Keep up the great vids CP, WHEW!!!!!!!! :)
Had a Matco Infinitum 10.8 volt batteries when they came out and kept the gray impact and 1/4” ratchet for almost 10 years before they stopped working. Super good tools. Using Snap-on 14.4 stuff now for 7ish years and still working without issue. I have some milwaukee m12 stuff too and those batteries tend to have a flimsy kind of fitment and do pop out a lot. I love my m18 Milwaukee tools but I’m not gonna not buy a tool just because of the battery loyalty platform, that’s stupid to me.
30 yr mechanic here and was a loyal Snap On cordless user. Then they started going out (mainly impacts) after a year and were always out of warranty. $120 for rebuild and it took a month...loaners were rare. Switched everything except ratchets over to Milwaukee. I've sent four tools in for repair over the last few years. It only takes like a week and a half. Two of those tools broke due to what could be considered abuse and all were used on heavy equipment...which could also be considered abuse. Milwaukee fixed them all under warranty! The M12 stubby is gift from God himself and I've never had a battery clip break. Guy I work with has broken 2-3 M12 battery clips and they were covered under warranty. He's also very hard on tools. I'm a Milwaukee fanboy for their diverse product line, performance and warranty. I work with a dozen other techs and EVERYONE is at least rocking 75% Milwaukee. At this point I have about 15 Milwaukee mechanics tools and break downs, repairs etc is basically a non-issue. This has just been my experience, I realize there are variables.
I've never had the M12 batteries pop out. I hate that they are difficult to remove from the tool! I'm heavily invested in the M12 lineup because they have a diverse line of mobile tools that fit into areas that others won't. Do they perform as well as pneumatic? No. But I can't always drag an air compressor around the farm and into the mountains. I will say that I prefer the ergonomics of the DeWalt 12 volt line. I'm currently on 7 different battery platforms, though.
Just recently bought Ridgid drill and bit drive (just for home use). The Ridgid warranty is Amazing...... FREE batteries for life. Also warranties the tools and chargers for LIFE.
I am not brand loyal i do think every brand has there strengths i have dewalt milwaukee Snap-on and more thinking about buying some dewalt 12v and maybe checking out some matco and i love the 310 tool funnel holder i just got 5 more and Victor signed one of them for me
My loyalty stays with which brand I can afford at the given time in my life, power tools Milwaukee, I have all my daily use manual ratchets are snap on or plyers are snap on but power tools I have dewalt, and Milwaukee.
CP since i am not a mechanic (technician!!) my opinion really does not matter. However i have been using Ridgid battery operated hammer drill, impact driver, recip saw & my newest acquisition the 3/8 drive mini impact wrench. The 18V 4 amp hour batteries have lasted very well. All the tools except my new purchase impact wrench are 6 years old now. My complaint is the battery will fall off sometimes no matter which tool i am using. They slide on the bottom but it seems to me that the ruggedness of the interface between the battery and the bottom of the tool is not strong enough.
I'm loyal to service good people as well when it Milwaukee I prefer there tools that come with a cord that only runs when plugged in the wall the warranty they disqualify it it real fast for any stupid reason that one reason air is still king with me
Technology like a scan tool, a laptop, or a cordless tool improves over time. It goes against the grain to say this, but I would rather buy the latest technology to replace an old tool than have a warranty replace it with the same old stuff.
I've probably got 20 or so Milwaukee tools, some M12 some 18 .I work HVAC so my M12 impact, drill, and hackzall all get used hard on the daily. The tools have ran flawlessly but their battery platform M12 and M18 both are pure garbage compared to every other brand. Both battery platforms do wonky ass weird shit that nobody else has problems with.Love the tools but the batteries are aggravating.
What are you guys doing with your batteries? I have some M18 batteries going on 6 years and never had a problem. I agree that the batteries feel a little loose in the tool, but have also never had a problem loosing contact and causing an operation issue. Of course, like any battery, the run time is depleted a bit on my older units. The only time I used the warranty was when I dropped my 3/8 impact in the snow and the battery shorted. It shouldn’t have been warranted, but Milwaukee repaired the battery for free(I had to pay shipping.) I’m a heavy equipment field tech and my tools are put through hell and I’ve had nothing but great experiences with Milwaukee. Except for a stupid Bluetooth speaker I bought which is a huge price of crap and I regret buying. I also don’t like to have a bunch of different brands of battery tools due to having to keep up with batteries and chargers. I like having one type of battery that will run all my tools and one charger to charge them. For me, it’s more efficient.
I've beat the living shit out of all my tools... Ive had my milwaukee shit for over 3+ years had to warranty a battery because I tried throwing it in my toolbox and missed hit the floor... Lol you said batteries not the tool the batteries don't carry a 5yr warranty they have a three just like the dewalt so that's a waste of your money if you were paying to replace your dewalts and snap-on has a year so something doesn't make sense via my logic!! Lol

Quite frankly no cordless tools hold up like air tools and they are alot cheaper as long as they use air in tires air tools will be the king!!
That’s funny, I was just looking at airless tires for my Cub Cadet, lol. ;)
They have airless tires since forklifts have been around low speed vehicles is a whole different ball game!! Lol

I like something, I buy it. If it makes my job easier, I'll for sure look at it. Biggest pet peeves, Crappy pullers lol.
I have makita and love the had no problems how do feel about makita curious?
Makita makes some great stuff just wish we could have the real Japanese versions!! Lol
I've swapped most of my impacts over to 40v makitas and I love it

Warranty it then trade it in 👌 lol
Ive always said Milwaukee has to fix the battery problem on the m12 and m18 fitment
CP best cordless brand and price and battery tool for taking lug nuts off a dodge 4500
But flex is lifetime on battery and everything if buy same year comes out lol. I go after good price for good tool.
Thats over in like a month or two gimmick marketing
@@CPthetooladdict I got flex grinder. It was registered as lifetime but that's when first come out
Milwaukee drill chucks suck along with the batteries. Dewalt for the win .

The fans are waiting for the CP short movie
I am loyal to the one that works that day!
Right perfect wording!!!
Well Done CP
Milwaukee has good marketing , but
The Battery issue is pathetic . Not a fan.
