that was around € 272. today that does not sound that much, but it must have been quite a lot of money back then. I really like the VU meters that the TC-K88 also has. I'm not fond of the mechanical buttons on the TC-K60. For that matter I like the TC-K80R or TC-K88 better. All great accomplishments at the time. Thanks for sharing!
The TC-K60 was not a high end cassette deck. I owned one and it had those nice meters, yea, and it had Sony's "BSL" (brushless / slotless / cogless) motor, but it also had only that single motor, only 2 heads, and was a single capstan drive.
Not sure but i think it couldn't play because it was a metal tape { for safety maybe ?? } and this deck doesn't have metal tape option at 0:23 pause and check
Badassvidsz To be sure about this problem you can try to play a normal tape cassete. If it cannot play I advice you to send it to be serviced by a qualidied technician. Perhaps the problem its just the faulty belts. Its a very nice and beaultiful cassete deck!
best video of a non-working cassette deck i've ever seen
In 1979 (december) i bought this model Sony TC-K60 in Holland for that time Nf 600 . Great cassette deck .

Why are you showcasing a broken deck?
Never use a metal tape in a deck which is not for metal tapes .
A lot of use of metal tapes can wear out the heads .......friendly advice :-)
You should to replace the belts because it didnt work on the video

Even with metal tape cassetes it should play! The quality of the sound would be not so good but it would play!
