i don't know why everyone is complaining but i just wanna say, Taeyeon's voice sounded soooooooo good in this performance, she sounded really mature and a bit husky like yuri and tiffany, it was really nice to hear such a powerfull voice out of such a tiny girl. the other girls did amazing, they can pull it of without jessica (even tho i still want her back, i'm focussing more about the future than the past)
What year did they debut? They really shouldnt be on the same level as someone who debuted last year. They are veterans and should be held to a high standard

I think this song is always going to be difficult for the girls to perform because of what happened in its year/era. Everyone always makes an excuse that performers are "tired" when they make a mistake as if they're not human and can't make mistakes, but I really think it's the pressure of the song. It's a reminder and it really isn't an easy note to hit, not to mention, it's not suited for ANY of their voices. The performance was fine until the mistake, but you can tell that Seohyun also felt uncomfortable and limited her range because she can definitely sing higher, with more power, and more confidently than that.
I think it's the mix of pressure & tired. They just finished their tokyo dome which almost all (if not all) songs are 100% live, and remember some of them also need to re-record many previous songs to replace Jessica voice on studio ver. (Taeyeon & Tiffany voice clearly sounded very hoarse in the end of 2014 & early 2015) If talk abt the song itself, I think The Boys are a bit harder than Mr. Mr. Yet, they didnt seem to have problem with it compared to their Mr. Mr performance on gayo daejuns 2014.
She had vocal nodules between Gee & Genie days. She had to have an operation in order for the pain to stop when she sings, but every vocal nodules operation is not predicted. I think the operation kind of affected her singing and her talking, her voice has gotten a lot huskier, and when she talks her voice fades... If she didn't had an operation, the tissues will surround her vocal chords which cause pain even having strained voice, I am glad she had her operation even though it affected her voice.
Just watch the video again today and read all the complaints of these people saying Taeyeon's voice here is terrible. She doesn't sound terrible! I rather listen to this than most of the live performances today that are lipsync or pre recorded.
Even though tiffany have a problem with her voice... We all must appreciate how they still want to perform live while they can easily lipsync the whole Performance...omg..... Miss them on stage so badly...

I have my doubts on SooYoung...if she was one of the vocal anti-Jessica members. It just drives me nuts not knowing what the real motive was. Was it just about money? They just lost someone who plays a very important part in the vocals. I know their tired from all the craziness that had happened in 2014 ,but that shouldn't be affecting their vocals. I'm not sure if they have any packed schedule on that day or that week. But I'm pretty sure they need to polish their vocals. I'm sure they can get back to their standards.
