This is the best reaction/analysis I have seen yet for this song. I too am glad my childhood and teenage years were before cell phones. This song really makes you think about the current path of humanity. Peace back at you.
Lady I just got to tell you, that is one of the best reviews of this song that I have seen, and you are Spot On with your thinking about everything in this song, And the song itself is just Amazing song righting, by Tuomas and this Amazing Band Nightwish, the one and only, which I have followed and seen may times sinse 1997, all over Europe and the UK, Thank You so very much for a great review of this masterpiece.
I love Nightwish and I love this masterpiece of a song/video. I loved your reaction 10 times more. You are absolutely spot on and this is easily the best reaction ever to this song. Thank you so much 👍🤘❤
I was born in 75 but have had a "boomer" attitude my whole life. I hate fake and hypocrisy. I don't use social media except utube. I love finding content that creates deep conversations. NW is such a great band to create that environment.
Lead single from the 9th album, Human:II"Nature. Released 2020 just as the world shut down, Marko recorded on the album, but left in early 2021, before they could play it live. Good live version of this song at Deichbrand and Hellfest 2022, with Jukka Koskinen on bass(he came from Wintersun, same as Kai) The blond is Jessica Edstrom, a model, actress and social media influencer and star. The guy getting beaten up and stabbed is Emppu, the guy taking theselfie is drummer Kai Hahto. I think the ending sums it all up, pan up to a beautiful sunset, and nobody is looking. The following is what Tuomas said about the video: "This video is not a criticism about technology or cell phones. We love technology. We wouldn’t ever have done this record without technology. We love our cell phones, the Internet and all that, but it’s a criticism for the addiction that these things cause in human beings. ‘Addiction’ is the word. It’s such a shame that we have all these wonderful tools that we can for the good, to spread true information and to be connected to the world. We love the idea of social media, we like Twitter, that everybody in the world suddenly has a voice; we have a voice. We can immediately get out there. It’s just a matter of what you put out there. And that’s what the video is all about."
Fantastic reaction and analysis! You really nailed it, and the pauses were warranted. BTW, Floor is pretty much the opposite of that character she was playing. She doesn't allow pictures or videos of her children, except from behind or when their faces are covered. She's very protective that way.
Very eloquently analysed. Went out to dinner and a group of younger people were sitting next to us..Everyone of them were on their phones...no.interaction whatsoever! ...Found it incongruous...they could have stayed at home! For a medium that supposedly ' brings people closer', is creating the complete opposite.
Exactly how I feel! We have a strict no phone policy when we're out as a family, for dinner etc. Unless we're looking up the meaning of something, we are a phone free zone during family time!
I have to say that I really adore you for your perfect analyses of this video. Nope, I agree with you 100%! Men are attracted to women (well, the straight ones anyway LOL!) and women are attracted to men. Do women not think men are going to ogle them, when they're biologically wired that way? Men love b**bs and b*tts... big whoop! I used to get cat called all the time when I was younger. Didn't bother me one bit! People get offended SO easily now. No wonder our society is going down the tubes! 🤦♀️

You're absolutely correct, I truly believe that 99% of people on the Internet are just "keeping up appearances". The other day, I went to the Gym and saw this Woman in her mid 20's, putting filming so she could post it online, best thing is in the Gym I am (and most Gyms I know of) you are not allowed to film so she got kicked out of the Gym by the staff, after getting a warning (she continued as soon as He was gone). Greetings from Denmark.
Good reaction from you to this song🙏 I'm a happy person who had his teenage years in the 70's. I only started my first PC in 2008 and a smart phone never arrived here. I don't like being important and always available! I enjoy my peace and quiet. We only have an old Nokia to be able to log in to RUclips and when we travel😏
Back today from a mountain tour with my son, guys, it feels so good to go offline and spend quality time in nature and with your loved ones...these moments when all the noise in your brain dies down and you simply realize the moment...priceless!
Now they have new tech that they can add the smile to the pic after. Will this madness ever end. Is this truly progress. Saying that I am a grumpy old man who grew up before all of this was possible.
Thank you very, very, very much for this explanation! My suggestion would be: send this video and your beautiful reaction (mainly!), to all schools, worldwide...period.
I did a selfie when out on the walk recently. I was out in a park , pushing my 87 year mother who is dementing and in wheelchair, she is at the end of her life. So i shot a selfie of me and her, while i still can. I shared it with my siblings. I thought that was a good application for this technology we have today. Otherwise, no thank you.
I see nothing wrong with taking pictures when you're with other people! And your situation is something totally different from the woman doing duck lips and posting a new selfie every day! God bless you and your mother 🙏
@@MrsRealistic I know , i was just underlining your point of view , the "enhanced" reality and all the useless, social-numbing use of the technology is repulsive , and very damaging.
A wonderful reaction & interpretation. I too share your pessimism about the world we live in. So much vanity, selfishness and pretentiousness. Tuomas writes so insightfully about societies failings, and manages to make it sound beautiful at the same time. Floor is a master of portraying emotion with her vocals. Such a great clip, to such a great song. Cheers from Australia.
Floor has never had her daughter's face on her posts , like when she announced she was having another child, Freya's face had the sonogram she was holding covering her face, thanks again!
I second all you're saying. Not reacting on social media messages, like I'm sick, it's my birthday, I was in that restaurant, brought me in conflict. I'just didn't react... And I'm a computerteacher! But I'm also 71 years old. Boomer who knows the real world.
Wow, you got it, especially as a Mom. Us oldies were lucky, without the "Social" media pressure. Tuomas, against nuclear power, and at the same time supporting it, then switching when it suits. The rows of "Hoodies" in front of the Mona Lisa. Emppu admonished for being different, the peers attacking him, whilst Kai takes a selfie. Troy sitting on "The Thrown", taking a selfie with fresh flowers then throwing them away. The child trapped by the mother, the background of an oil distillery, changing to Pripyat "Amusement Park", Chernobyl.
Wonderful to see that the message is found. As i have been born already -60 and have seen the development of this.. .probably it is so deep need to try to get that 5 minutes publicity and shout out loud i'm here? What have gone wrong?
😊 true story! I have made statements to my hubby “you’re on your phone a lot.” He denies it and he is sincere in his response. I got kicked off Facebook in 2019 and didn’t get back on until 2023. It was the best thing for me! Realizing the reality that Facebook owned my content. My family pictures, my experiences. Facebook owned them and they threw it out.
Great (and very insightful) reaction - a friend of mine calls cellphones 'Idiot Screens' as only an idiot would prefer to look at a screen rather than the beauty with which they are surrounded....
I think that giving your first time interpretation is really cool and it's the whole point of reacting. As you told, most of us have listened to these songs many times and some of us also searched for back stories, but that's not why we are here. We are here to see what the first listen of a song communicates to you, and it's always cool, so keep up the good work and don't be afraid to interpretate what you see!
whoa! You are one of the best responders I have followed. It has really been wonderful to grow up in a time before cell phones and the modern internet. how much life is missed by those who are stuck on social media, games and in general always with their eyes closed on the screen. It's sad to follow the lives of those who are completely caught up in social media. at worst, forced disconnection, e.g. when the phone's battery is empty, causes fear states and panic symptoms. following one is horrible. thank you for making this response. I appreciate you very much.
You nailed the interpretaion, immediately! Very preceptive and enlightening reaction/analysis, to a damning, yet at the end, hopeful, summary of the human condition, from Tuomas.
Believe it or not, but as a NW fan since the beginning of the pandemic, I have never watched the video in it's totality in all those years. I was usually so grossed out at about a third into it, that I just had to stop. But due to your interpretation, and believe me, you could have stopped 14 more times, I got it, and you said it better than I could ever have, and I so much agree with what you have said. Be it on an airport recently, where a lady at the gate spent about half an hour posing for selfies with pointed kissy lips, or be it on the tropical island, where I spend a fortnight, and had to yell at the lady:'POOL!', around 3 feet before she fell into it, recording a selfie talk, this all is completely nuts to me. I subscribed, and since my limit is 10 subs, l gladly stopped a subscription to some up and coming superstar, who fascinated me with her versions of well known songs since her early childhood, but unfortunately lately turned into some blush red cheek overdone make up, high heeled Dior/Chanel & Co. puppet.
You're very kind! Thank you! I feel the same way...I look at these people like, "Is this real life?" How have we become so obsessed with ourselves? People who were like that back when there were no cell phones, used to be called egotistical, now it's the norm. 🤨🤦♀️I don't need to see a new selfie of anyone every day. You look the same as you did yesterday Carol. 😄 I've literally seen people with their phones IN the pool!! WTF? I feel like we're doomed. I pray my children find wives and husbands who have been raised with the same values... because I fear for their future.
@@MrsRealistic And to top it off, phones where you can see the person on the other side, which was like a futuristic fantasy when I grew up, don't seem to be enough anymore. The other day, for dinner at this beach shack, I saw this twenty something lady on a phonecall, plus having some mini drone hovering 3 feet in front of her face, probably transmitting a video of herself making a call. Go figure 🤔😵💫
@peterpritzl3354 ugh... people have gone mad. My TOP pet peeve is when we're in a restaurant and someone decides to have a FaceTime call! I DON'T WANT TO BE IN YOUR VIDEO CALL! Not to mention how absolutely rude it is to everyone else who has to hear the person you're talking to! My husband will, with zero issue, tell people off. They act incensed that someone DARE have an issue or say something to them! My husband feels like it's his civic duty to teach people a lesson 😆 He's told numerous people to turn off their phones when they're playing video games, giving their kids screens with shows on and no headphones, listening to music... etc. He'll say, "Excuse me, I didn't realize I paid to eat in your living room..." It's really quite funny.
OMG - if any of my friends had the ability to record our actions back in the day……. The things we did, yet we are all still OK! A long time ago, I was asked to MC my buddies wedding. I wondered why he would allow me a mic and a podium to tell the world all the shit he did and got into. Then it dawned on me that I couldn’t - I was also there! And that’s exactly what I explained when I introduced myself as his MC!
@@MrsRealistic It was awesome actually - I had no idea how fun it could be! I was going through my old suit jacket a couple of years ago for one of my kids grads and found the old notes in the inside pocket.
WOW .... i have seen many reactions on this video, but you saw everything as i did the first time. There was another person who saw it, but you are absolutly the best. And no .... i'm not young :) Too much brainwash on the internet these day's and that's very sad. It was fun in the beginning, but not now. Great reaction
Now TTHAT was a very observant reaction. You caught a very large part of what's in the video (whether you caught all but didn't comment, I can't say but the most obvious exclusion was the oil bath scenes) You'll find it worth watching this a few more times. Your interpretations were right on the spot, better than most reactions IMO. Tuomas has said of this song (and video) that he's not against technology per se, but he is highlighting the misuses and you described that very well. Really impressive for a first watch - I didn't spot half what you did the first time I watched. As to the music, there is a lot going on and it's easier to listen when you watch a live performance without the incredibly well produced video. Floor hits some of the highest notes I think I've heard her sing in this and it's underpinned by relentless driving pace of modern life. Seeing the outside world people are missing, shown at the end is almost enough to moisten the eyes. Thank you for a brilliant video analysis.
Amen, about the cell phones. I turn mine off regularly, I don't need to be available constantly. I have never used the browser on my cellphone. It is strictly for calls and text messages.

Wow , that's a brilliant reaction. 🤘❤ Thank you and greetings from Germany
Thank you so much!
Excellent analysis. And BTW: "that guy" that was beaten up for a dissenting opinion (red light) was Emppu and the guy taking selfies was Kai.
I knew they looked familiar!!
Loved your reaction👍👍❤️❤️
Thank you so much 😁
Great and deep reaction for the great song!
Thank you 😊
You're absolutely correct, I truly believe that 99% of people on the Internet are just "keeping up appearances".
I'm glad that gyms are kicking out these idiots. They look ridiculous and it's super annoying for EVERYONE else in the gym! Bravo to them! 👏
By FAR the best reaction/commentary to this video I have seen and I have seen about a hundred ! BRAVO !
Aww thank you! That's very kind!
Wise words from you. Thanks for a great reaction. Greets from Finland!
Thanks so much! 😁
🤗🍒🤘🏻😘 Great great job, You are absolutely right! 🌹😘
Thank you! 🤗
Good reaction from you to this song🙏
I'm a happy person who had his teenage years in the 70's. I only started my first PC in 2008 and a smart phone never arrived here. I don't like being important and always available! I enjoy my peace and quiet. We only have an old Nokia to be able to log in to RUclips and when we travel😏
You're now a rare species! 😅 Good for you!
@@MrsRealistic Thanks🙃
Great reaction love and respect from the UK 👍👍🌟😀😀 amazing channel 👍
Thanks Dave! 😊
Super reaction ❤
Thank you! 😁
"Be a tool of a tool"
Best lyric in 50 years
That's friggin epic 😎 🙌
Great reaction. The last shot is very important. It shows that however bad it may have gotten, real beauty is not far away. 🧡
Amen to that 🙏
Back today from a mountain tour with my son, guys, it feels so good to go offline and spend quality time in nature and with your loved ones...these moments when all the noise in your brain dies down and you simply realize the moment...priceless!
Amen to that!
🇫🇮❤your informed & thought-provoking reaction to this song that is also like that.
What you said! Brilliant reaction.
Excellent reaction and analysis!
Thank you 😊
Super thought provoking.
Thank you for being an excellent Human being.
Aww, I appreciate that! Thanks so much! 😊🙏
Now they have new tech that they can add the smile to the pic after. Will this madness ever end. Is this truly progress. Saying that I am a grumpy old man who grew up before all of this was possible.
Well I'll join you as a grumpy old woman 😆 You're right, half of the tech seems totally useless and ridiculous!
Exactly! From a Boomer
Thank you very, very, very much for this explanation! My suggestion would be: send this video and your beautiful reaction (mainly!), to all schools, worldwide...period.
Aww, that's very kind!
Great reaction again..wanna meet the New Dutch Valkyre...Emma Kok-Dancing on the stars
Message came through obviously 👍🏻
Thank you !! Greetings from nwAse Sweden Ps / the band is great actors /Ds
I love your comments on this song and I totally agree with you. Thank you!
A wonderful reaction & interpretation. I too share your pessimism about the world we live in. So much vanity, selfishness and
pretentiousness. Tuomas writes so insightfully about societies failings, and manages to make it sound beautiful at the same time. Floor is a master of portraying emotion with her vocals. Such a great clip, to such a great song. Cheers from Australia.
Thanks so much! Cheers right back at you from Texas! 😊
Floor has never had her daughter's face on her posts , like when she announced she was having another child, Freya's face had the sonogram she was holding covering her face, thanks again!
She's a smart lady!
I second all you're saying. Not reacting on social media messages, like I'm sick, it's my birthday, I was in that restaurant, brought me in conflict. I'just didn't react... And I'm a computerteacher! But I'm also 71 years old. Boomer who knows the real world.
That's exactly it... we know what it was like before!
It's an AMAZING video... I'm sure the song is great live, but having a video like this for it REALLY makes it hit home!
excellent break down and analysis as always
Thank you sir! 😊
More than 'just' a reaction, your insight is educational, thank you.
Thank you! I appreciate that 🙏
Perfectly perceived
Mrs. Realistic, you are spittin' bars! Please keep this up. And I'm a 1966 Gen-X person.
1975 baby over here! 😁👍
Wonderful to see that the message is found. As i have been born already -60 and have seen the development of this.. .probably it is so deep need to try to get that 5 minutes publicity and shout out loud i'm here? What have gone wrong?
Thanks
😊 true story!
I have made statements to my hubby “you’re on your phone a lot.” He denies it and he is sincere in his response. I got kicked off Facebook in 2019 and didn’t get back on until 2023. It was the best thing for me! Realizing the reality that Facebook owned my content. My family pictures, my experiences. Facebook owned them and they threw it out.
Yup...I rarely go on FB and have slowly weaned myself down on Instagram. It's a massive time-suck and waste of your day!
Point on reaction 👍 reminds me of the Metallica song sad but true ! 😢
Thank you 😊
This was the best analysis of this song that I have ever heard.
You're so kind! Thank you! 😁
Great (and very insightful) reaction - a friend of mine calls cellphones 'Idiot Screens' as only an idiot would prefer to look at a screen rather than the beauty with which they are surrounded....
Very true words! People would rather check out of their real lives.
Great reaction. You've couldn't have chosen a better name as a reactor 😊
Greetings from the Netherlands ( land of Floor)
Thank you! 😃
Great reaction..or should I say, analysis😊. Greetings from Finland ❤
Thank you! 😃
Thanks for best review this song has got . I’m also old , I was young adult when time of no internet
Good times huh? Unfortunately those days are lost forever 😞
Tuomas was sitting in the black goo - he said it was warm and soothing.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that!
Well...if that was not the most intelligent breakdown of this video/song I have seen.. Kudos to you Mrs.
Wow, thank you! I appreciate that! 🙏
My pleasure! Thank you! 😁
Best reaction I've seen on your channel, (course I usually only watch Nightwish) And I am a Boomer! :-) Great review and analysis!
Boomers know it even more than Gen X!! I love the stories from my parents!
You nailed the interpretaion, immediately! Very preceptive and enlightening reaction/analysis, to a damning, yet at the end, hopeful, summary of the human condition, from Tuomas.
Thank you so much! 😊
Great reaction and explanation. Im getting off my phone but only after this reaction
Solid idea 🤣👍 Thank you 😊
Thank you!
That's a riot! I bet you gave a great speech!
Thank you so much. That means a lot! 😊
let's go GEN X
1975 Gen X over here!!
Now TTHAT was a very observant reaction. You caught a very large part of what's in the video (whether you caught all but didn't comment, I can't say but the most obvious exclusion was the oil bath scenes)
You'll find it worth watching this a few more times.
Thanks so much for your kind compliment! I appreciate that 🙏
Amen, about the cell phones. I turn mine off regularly, I don't need to be available constantly. I have never used the browser on my cellphone. It is strictly for calls and text messages.
Yes, it's STRESSFUL!
You back kus 😘
