      More like a bunch of Americans that have been convinced they're right wing despite being working class are having completely normal reactions to an enemy of the working class being killed.

    Insurance is effectively a variation on gambling. The insurance company is 'betting' that something bad will NOT happen to their insured, while the insured is 'betting' something bad will happen to them.
    What makes sense would be for insurance companies to work to make sure the public is least likely to have something bad happen to them.

The level itself is a deconstruction of the original game's formula and themes ("[The Psychonauts] do not fix people; we're here to help people fight their own demons." The one thing people in the US need more than anything is to _see_ one another. To see that neither side of the polarized division aisle is trying to be evil, malicious, or abusive. Not on the voter side, anyway. Most regular people just want a decent job, a fair wage, and a chance at happiness. A chance to live life on their terms. If we have that, why get angry that someone else might have blue hair, use unfamiliar pronouns and/or be a feminist, or that they drink moonshine out of a funny hat while riding a tractor into a ditch full of alligators?

And/or that the rich would be made to utilize the same healthcare as everyone else so as to force the standard of healthcare up (because lord knows if they had to bum it with the rest of us they'd move heaven and earth to be able to get actual quality treatment passed as the legal standard) rather than being able to ignore the problem by hiring personal healthcare professionals.

    • @reading1713
      @reading1713 10 дней назад

      @Blundabus1337 for all. Everybody. It's not about healthcare for CEOs. It's about destroying the predatory American healthcare system. If there is no private healthcare system, the costs for healthcare will go down because we will no longer have to pay the benefits and fund expensive holidays for all of these CEOs and shareholder billionaires. The price of insulin and basic necessities will finally be comparable to the price in other countries. If you continue to expand healthcare while restricting it to a few the private healthcare system will still make things too expensive for the government to be able to afford to give the working poor good care. If there is only a single payer though ( ie the government) then they will have the power to negotiate down healthcare costs making the cost of healthcare to be in line with the prices present in other developed countries

      Unfortunately America is right wing beyond all reason so to be centrist in this political context is just to be a right winger.
      The democratic party are like if the republican party who don’t hate gay people and don’t want to give as much tax breaks to the rich. Both parties want endless war and support the g-side of gaza. They also keep moving to the right because going to the left means they have to care about healthcare and money in politics.
      Bernie Sanders is an actual centrist if we look at politics outside of American context.
      That being said you are right on one very important thing: We are divided when we shouldn’t be. This CEOs death proved we are being radicalized by old and new media to fight each other when we agree on what we actually want. Or maybe they don’t agree with you? Just because Ben Shapiro is ridiculous doesn’t mean that Millenials plus Gen Z and A aren’t struggling with food and housing under current administration, a lot of people that might otherwise agree with you simply don’t think Kamala is going to help fix our dangerous unwalkable cities that are falling apart etc.

In its current state if I do end up getting severely ill I would rather buy the $1000-2000 plane ticket back to my home country because that would most definitely be cheaper. The life expectancy is slightly lower but drowning in debt is arguably worse.
