Ah, to be a little skittle of a shrimp, living in a beautiful bowl with a beautiful waterfall, having a kind giant watching over you and feeding you. Damn. These shrimp have it made. Dream luxury villa for them!
Matt do you watch the pet and aquarium supply museum youtube channel??? Go check out his videos and old aquariums youtube.com/@museumofaquariumandpethistory?si=Y3zQ4WOnPuLFeXSD
One advice. pour some gravel behind under the filter to protect pump head from sand particles. If you leave it like that there will probably be some damage in the near future.
At first I had my doubts to be really honest. My wife said "its Matt, just you wait". What can I say, its amazing and I love it, well done. Now my mind is running overtime with ideas 🦐
I know everybody wants to grow, wants to get bigger or more impressive scales. But this little piece of beauty is the stuff I can look at all day and never get tired. Something small and affordable to put in a little empty corner that can give you so much relaxation and entertainment. 🥰 You should try and sell something like these bowls 😅
I laughed when you pulled the bowl out. I've always known those as "goldfish bowls" - oh, the horror! Love the final product, so cool. I bet the shrimp have discovered the algae growing on the waterfall wood, so the more adventurous climb up for it.
This is the magic of fish keeping - you find an old fish bowl in your garage or maybe one on clearance at a garden supply store, then you add extra plants/animals/equipment you have lying around or donated by friends, but you have a clear vision - when the hardscape is obviously a waterfall (with the extra pump we all have lol). Then voila, you have a beautiful art piece for your breakfast bar AND you learn something new about animals you've kept many times before. Thank you so much for sharing. And have a very happy holidays!
This is my favourite of all your videos so far. I love the end result and the appearance of your dogs of course! It would be great to learn your (and MD's) back story. What did you guys go to school for and what was your career before finding RUclips and each other etc.?
I can't believe what a great miniature landscape you made. That is a 1960s style goldfish bowl from the days when we tortured poor goldfish by actually keeping them in things like that with no filtration. It's amazing what you fit inside it and how well it turned out. BUT in my opinion that bowl is hideous and I would take the whole thing out and put it into a pretty little glass cube where you can actually see it. Maybe it is my bad memories of those bowls, lol. Thank you for the inspiration and entertainment - have a very happy Christmas😊❤💚❤💚
Ooops I woke my little one up lmao at the first attempt at the waterfall 😂 * muuuuuum what you laughting at?* 🤭 Looks amazing. Shrimp will feed on rocks and wood poking out of the tank as long as a bit of water runs over it, it's amazing.
I used to have a waterfall in one of my shrimp tanks! Love watching them climb up the wood! They still climb on top of the floating plants looking for missed bits of fish food! Now I want to put my waterfall back in!
You made that dirty little bowl look absolutely amazing. Ya gotta do something like that again on a bigger scale. Wonderful job Matt, and please keep'em coming.
Oh my word, the first attempt to turn on the pump... Both my daughter and I were rolling laughing! But the end looks so good, you just inspired me to do something similar.
Matt! I really love the content- and it’s been great to see your personal transformation in how you communicate with the audience. I really feel like you’re growing as a presenter, or host should I say, in your videos. Compared to when you first started your channel. You are very genuine and sweet to watch. And I love your laid back- but still good quality content style. Wishing you and your family a merry Christmas! And looking forward to new stuff in the new year !
That turned out fantastic. Only you could take a plain glass bowl and turn it into a shrimp oases. And with a waterfall to!!! Well MD could probably do it to. You guys are the aquascape masters. Well done Matt. Well done. I want one. Oh if you do one on a bigger scale you could set it up for some mud skippers. That would be so cool.
I don't know how Matt did it but it was a really beautiful well balanced aquascape not just a good looking fishtank but a beautiful aquascape.. I guess sometimes you just get the right peices altogether by luck 😂.. hey or Matt is a very good aquascaper
As beautiful as this scape is, is anyone else really impressed with how chill the dog is throughout this entire set up? Haha. My dog would be up and down like a yoyo lol xx
love this bowl tank! if you want to make the waterfall a bit stronger you can add some small stones/gravel at the exit of the tube so the stones reduce the velocity and it doesn't splash maybe worth a try ;)
Wow! It’s beautiful. I bought a little water pump some time ago to make a small garden fountain. I’m thinking about setting up a small shrimp tank now, and I think it would be perfect in a setup like this. You have given me the inspiration to get the project going. Now, to find a cool container like this. It’s off to yard sales I go! 💕
That was brilliant!! I popped over from MD Fish Tanks, which I've only been watching for a couple weeks. Already learned so much from both channels and I dug my old tank out of storage and getting ready to plant today. Thanks so much
Oh it looks really zen, and beautiful! Perfect placement too for when you are just starting your day and just need to calm the mind ready for whatever life throws at you. Just want to say, if you haven't already that is, I'm sure you have because you are no noob to this hobby, you might want to flip your nerite snail right way up, as they can't right themselves on their own and will die otherwise. I only mention this because mine died because he got knocked off the side of the tank and couldn't right himself. I didn't know anything back then lol

😂 the water fall the 1st time had me in stitches, Merry Christmas and I can’t wait for next years content
Hahaha yeah it wasn't that funny until I worked out what to do!
He should definitely do one 😄
It reminded me of those peeing cherub fountains
Now technically it's a cascade.

You should try and sell something like these bowls 😅
Yea I absolutely second on selling something like these bowls! They are actually hard to find
Ma main man Mat.. It’s good to see you doing your own thang dude!! You are going to do just fine. Relax and enjoy the journey - we will too ❤
I laughed when you pulled the bowl out. I've always known those as "goldfish bowls" - oh, the horror! Love the final product, so cool. I bet the shrimp have discovered the algae growing on the waterfall wood, so the more adventurous climb up for it.
That Dalmatian donut at the start!!!!❤
"Don't mind the dalmation, she is doing her impression of an accent cushion."
This is one of my favourite builds of yours Matt. I love the look of it and the waterfall is wonderful!
This just gave me so much inspiration to get back into the hobby
I really like it, it turned out great! Neat to see the shrimp's climbing behavior!
Like this one a lot 😍
Glad you like it!
Waterfall shrimp was super interesting
Love that Matt. ❤
Thank you!
14:59 Go guys go!
Go do shrimpy-snaily things.😁
Your constant smile says it all Matt. Well done sir.
Hahaha always happy!
Absolutely love this Matt. My attempt at a waterfall hasn't really worked out. You've inspired me to have another go
You should definitely give it another go! I got lucky with the shape of the wood and the hole that was already there.
Matt your amazing dude 🤙
Thank you! Much appreciated 👍
These are the type of inspiring videos we need , not only very large tanks. Great job
I generally hate bowl aquariums but I love this one!!
Doubles as a drinking fountain if your thirsty....it looks amazing!!
I wish I could like this 10x
Love this idea and the way it turned out. Can't wait to see how you'll scale this up and if the shrimp will do the same thing.
Yeah I'm really excited to see how it works!
The hardscaping turned out much better than I expected it to and that peace lily really works wonders.
Your Dalmatians are so cute! Also I laughed when you first turned on the waterfall! Lol.
Was wonderful hearing your wife laugh. You and yours have a safe and joyous holiday.

Your outlet is in the perfect spot. Looks like a tropical oasis and I love it.
A suggestion - add some terrestrial moss along the waterfall. It looks great!
This is really cool ! A small bowl turns into its own little world, look forward to the big version !
This is one of my favorite builds. Who would have thought a traditional gold fish bowl would become that work of art.
I loved this project. It was way beyond what I expected to see at the start.
I love this so much! It’s wonderful. Thank you Matt.
Awww thank you!
That's an old school turtle bowl like Rocky had... 😊
Yes!! Big waterfall on top of a fish tank!!
Your dogs 🐶 ❤. Wishing you and your family a lovely Christmas 🎄
Hope you have a great Christmas!
I've never seen a shrimp climb as it did either! Thank you for the inspirational videos!
That came out beautifully.
Thank you!
Lots of charm in a small space. Nice.
I absolutely love this beautiful little ecosystem!!! Great job!!! 😊
❤👏
Me too!
Love the bowl, reminds me of the 70’s!!!😊
Found you through MD and your content is absolutely top notch as well! Take care and thanks for the inspiration!
Stunningly beautiful:) Your cinemaphotography has grown nicely too:)
Thank you for sharing🙂💙🐟
Very impressed. Inspirational
Thank you!
Thought of my fountain in kindergarten. Also they will climb on top of dense duckweed

That's really Cool love the water fall
You are so joyful, a pleasure to watch ❤
Gorgeous!!!😊😊😊
Matt this is my favorite build yet!!! Maybe you and MD should kit these and sell them?

So cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
There are a lot of wonderful fish youtubers out there mat thank you for being and inspiration you and md are the best
Cool vintage goldfish bowl. Same type my family had 50+ years ago.
I must say Matt you’re knocking these out of the park. The last two especially have have been superb!!
You and MD need to do this kind of build with a shallow tanks. Great job, love your content.
Thank you! I think we can squeeze something in
I used to have a waterfall in one of my shrimp tanks! Love watching them climb up the wood! They still climb on top of the floating plants looking for missed bits of fish food! Now I want to put my waterfall back in!

Lovely design. The waterfall turned out brilliantly in the end😂 .
Very nicely done ✔️ 👏
Put your aloe plant in a glass container to blend with your beautiful bowl ❤
45k subs, 47k views. Doing a great job with the channel Matt
What a beautiful tank
Outstanding!! Thx again
Thank you!
Pretty sweet little mini pond for your bar!
Sparked my imagination too!
This was so different and imaginative, Matt. Loving your work. Cheers!

Oh if you do one on a bigger scale you could set it up for some mud skippers. That would be so cool.
I had a bowl like that one as a child that had a festival goldfish live in it for 3 years. This looks amazing, what a great idea for a fun vessel.
wow, such a great idea for a bowl. Well done mat, love that water fall idea. very very nice.
Id like to see this again in 5-6month :)
I’m going to make this for my husband’s Christmas present!
I don't know how Matt did it but it was a really beautiful well balanced aquascape not just a good looking fishtank but a beautiful aquascape.. I guess sometimes you just get the right peices altogether by luck 😂.. hey or Matt is a very good aquascaper
Such a brilliant idea, wait till M D sees it.
This looks awesome!
Thank you!
Definitely do a bigger waterfall. Wonderful idea it was.
Really cool, the waterful gives it so many more points of interest that you can look at. Would love to see something on a bigger scale.
Awesome! Better scaper than MD!
Just gorgeous Mat..❤
As beautiful as this scape is, is anyone else really impressed with how chill the dog is throughout this entire set up? Haha. My dog would be up and down like a yoyo lol xx
I love this scape so much. I want to do a little shrimp tank for my house and this is so nice.

Best scape yet Matt!
A nice scape Matt 👍👍👍
You have an eye. I am absolutely in love of what you have created with this older glass piece.
When the waterfall came on 😂, really enjoyed this one Matt 👍
Awesome Scape... Absolutely brilliant 👏 😍😎🤙
This might be the best shrimp bowl I’ve ever seen
I loved this build accessable yet fun. It is inspiring how much you enjoy the tinkering part😊

Nice change Matt Well Done!

Laughed out loud at the initial waterfall turn on 😂
That looks amazing though really need to do something like this 👏👏
that is a super cool build, matt. and the shimps climbing up the waterfall?!? the icing on the cake. bravo.
I've always wanted to do something like this but with a drilled hole through the bottom of the bowl to accommodate the pump through the table.
you've inspired me to rescape my shallow tank...
Oh it looks really zen, and beautiful! Perfect placement too for when you are just starting your day and just need to calm the mind ready for whatever life throws at you.
