    A few hours of some fun in the simulator resulted in this little video too.. Here you can see a short-field takeoff with flaps 10 and 26k of un-derated thrust from ENCN and a landing at Sola ENZV. These two fellas are both Boeing 737 first officers. They are just having fun, so please no bashing if you see anything you disagree with..

    The moment after landing when they turn on to the taxiway and start flipping all switches, beautiful!

    It would be good if you did an exit interview with them so they could tell you/us how they liked it, and if it felt "real".....

  • @ovnilab
    @ovnilab 7 лет назад +3

    That was FRIGGIN' AWESOME! Especially at the end when they both flipped on the taxi lights and other switches in unison! You could tell they had done it thousands of times.

    If they are both First Officers did you have to get them to do rock paper scissors to see who sat in the left seat?

    • @Norwegian737Project
      @Norwegian737Project  9 лет назад +74

      Lol.. Since they are both first officers, none of them really wanted to sit in the left seat :)

    I really liked the video. You can almost feel the professionality in there... The way the PNF turns the knobs without having to think about where they are and how he hits the flap lever after moving it, to make sure it's locked right in place... Superb!

    This is more than building a simulator, it is a monumental job, and it is a work of perseverance, constance and patience. Amazing job. Not enough words to express my admiration for what you did ;) Bravo. Just a few questions, are you a real pilot ? and what simulator are you using FSX? Prepar3D? X-Plane? I assume you are not using any ATC? What projectors did you use? I am looking to your work and looks better than the real full flight simulators!!! yes, better. Amazing.

    • @wooe
      @wooe 9 лет назад

      No, it's running P3D. He started out with FSX however. X-Plane is rarely used in home cockpits. It's not unheard of but FSX or P3D is more common.

    Awesome simulator! I am still in the early stages with mine, but even when I have finished it, I can honestly say it won't be anywhere near as good as yours. Great that you have real world Pilots testing it out, they can give an honest and very accurate opinion on how the simulator feels and reacts to their input. I am a little jealous of your achievement with this project, I am going to need a lottery win to build one to your standard here. Respect Fella, very well done.

  • @draftdodgerscom

    This is my favourite video from the project...... great to see pro pilots at work and the way, at times their hands fly around operating the switches. Though they seem a bit bemused and amused at times with the slight differences and inconsistencies between this and the real thing. Couldn't get better endorsements.

    Pitty the guy in the captains seat has his foot on the lower left pfd panel during cruise, you'd of thought him being a pilot would have some respect for your project and the effort and money you've put into it, id of told him to have some manners next time he checks into your cockpit, for instance you wouldn't go round someones house and put your feet up on a coffee table.
    awesome work!

    • @kegannff
      @kegannff 9 лет назад +1

      quatar pignolio Because of the setup of the screens it gives the impression that the plane is actually turning so, you can fool your senses and your brain will interpret like that, so your body will mistakenly feel like it is actually turning, this is known effect and the reverse can also happen, that's why flying over the ocean in a dark night with no moon can be disorienting, causing pilots to mistrust their instruments, and they often don't feel the plane turning, due to the lack of aid from the visual sense

    • @kegannff
      @kegannff 9 лет назад

      quatar pignolio Hydraulics might help with giving a more sense of weight in the controls, and give the shaking, but the sensation of movement can be made as a trick

      ***** Excellent. Please consider interviewing them on camera outside of the cockpit with their thoughts/opinion on how valuable the simulator would be for training and what type of training and/or how your simulator compares to a real simulator used by the airlines.
