Let me start by saying I know nothing about airboats. I mean they are awesome they go anywhere (with enough horse power). But besides that I know zero zip......
What started as fixing the leaks in the hull has... well... gotten out of control... its turned into a full on airboat build - restore/ upgrade. So it's time to learn and over engineer using a dull pencil a scrap of paper and non electronic C.A.D. ( the cereal box version of course).

Ian building an air boat in Australia and was wondering what rpm you were running on the engine. I am trying to work out direct drive but keep getting told props don’t like going over 3500 rpm. I was going to change cam so it reached peak power at 3500 rpm what’s your thoughts please. I can’t seem to get much help here in Australia.

That is correct. Props don't like going over about 3500. So it limits the power that a v8 can make. Cam change may help. But if you want a really good V8 airboat gear/belt reduction is the way to go.
@@TSRGarage thanks. I can’t seem to get a reduction box for a 351 cleveland. They only seem to be Chevrolet ones.
Can you direct me to the video that deals with motor prep and any modifications you made to counter any issues with end thrust from prop thanks.
The motor was already on the boat. I did not modify the motor at all. Owner of the boat said it's just a reman stock chevy 350.
Beautiful boat. Whst size hull is that ? I am building a 350 airboat now. On a 11'6 cotton mouth. Worried its to short .
If I remember correctly, this boat is 12 ft hull.

The engine is a 350 chevy, from (I think) early/mid 80s
What's the right hand leaver for
It's just something to hold on to, hand hold when climbing into the seat.
You should know your supost to have a red flag on your cage when ridit
What is "when ridit" ?
I think he is just saying you have to have a red flag on top of the cage or get a ticket from FWC.
