    Good talk today, man! I'm 30, and starting to feel the beginning of the constriction of options. Especially since lately I've been realizing I want to make some big changes, but I'm not sure in what direction. It's starting to feel like there's less time to vascillate though. It's an interesting time to be in! Caving feels like a great analogy for it

Watching an listening so I can make a mental time stamp of what you were saying, so I’ll know which word is when I need to screen shot, and BOOM…. I found caught it 😂 Got a perfect screenshot. 11:27 Skull cave! Reminds me of some Goonie types of cave system right there!
    I thought my mind was playing tricks on me. But you must have imposed a photo of a skull with some editing magic. Well done.
    Captures what our minds are saying we see.
    What a great video. Great advice and commentary once again. This channel has done so much for me that all I can say is thank you.

      Same part of the world as Goonies was filmed. Could probably make the drive in 2.5 hours from the cave to The Goonies house.
      In any case that is the skulll room. And this cave is sufficiently weird. It's actually the longest lava tube in the United States (48)

    I like the textures of the rock in this cave, those smoother passages would make a nice path through a garden. Your so lucky to have so many amazing places to explore. There is no big cave networks where i live but i found a very rugged volcanic area but recently found some smaller volcanic pockets along cliffs while climbing a mountain called Mount Lindsay. So im hoping to find an entrance way to something bigger if i take my time.

    • @CalvinHikes
      @CalvinHikes  Год назад

      Mount Lindsay down under? I'm just curious where that's a pretty common name for a mountain. But saying there are no big cave networks where you live is a line I've heard before. And I can say without knowing where you live that it's not true.
      We live one in one of the least cave areas of our country. Caves are generally plentiful everywhere but the caving world has kept quite private. Digging for your own caves is very difficult to do so good for you for finding something.
      If you aggressively want to be a caver I would encourage you to search online for caving groups and try to join one. Otherwise digging through the internet to find information on caves it's also helpful. Cuz finding them out in the wild is pretty difficult to do but starting on Mount Lindsay is probably going to be pretty fun for you. It's fun to explore. At least you're outside you know not inside watching videos all day. let us know how it goes.

    Probably the most sincere motivational speeches I've heard in quite some time. I needed to hear something like this for most of my life. Wish I would've heard it decades ago. I've picked so many paths, but keep coming back to a central hub. Never really committed to one path to the end. Guess I've been afraid of getting stuck, but never realizing that coming back to the same location doesn't help you escape the cave.

    • @CalvinHikes
      @CalvinHikes  3 года назад +2

      That is high praise thank you very much. I often wonder if my speeches detract from the video but I will do stuff like this every once in a while.
      If it's something that you think about then you are probably a great person full of thought. That doesn't always lead to the most happiness but it will eventually lead to a fulfilling life.
