    Every plot point in this book sounds more bizarre than the last, but the part where Donald Trump gave her relationship advice f.king broke me. Main Character Lady sounded more in love with him than with her actual love interest.

    Fun fact: Trump didn't write The Art of the Deal. At least, that's what his co-writer and publisher claim. I couldn't say one way or the other, but it would be a surprise, of all the celebrities who actually wrote their own books, if Trump was one of them.

      It was written by Tony Schwartz.
      He has since publicly denounced the book, saying that it's full of crap, and expressed remorse for his part in creating the fictional Trump myth.
      Not 100% sure, but I think he also said that Trump contributed almost nothing to the book.

    This book's premise sounds like it should be a horror novel, not a romance. Like tell me that "Hey, let's go on a date where we burry my mom's ashes that I've been keeping all this time." doesn't sound like something Norman Bates would do!
    I also love how Liberty felt the need to tell us about her male leads shady family history for literally no reason, like his ancestors stealing the land never comes up despite sounding like it would be an important plot point. Especially weird since we are supposed to see him as a good guy.

      I mean, shoot me if that doesn't perfectly fit the exact bullshit they like to blather on about regarding the lands stolen from native Americans. It's all "Get over it already, yeesh" and "What? Not like I ever did anything."

      A lot of the poorer books are self published hoping for an audience which might lead to a formal publishing deal ['The Martian' being an example of a good novel having to go that route as covered in Dom's 'episode on it].

      I got a small crucefix and a fraimed photograph of one of the paintings in out church (from the perish) and many other gifts from my relatives. A lot of children recieve there first watch for first communion (It used to be for the confirmation). Unfortunatly I lost mine very quickly the same happned with a golden ring I got from my granparents. Since I am an atheist today I didn't keep the cross and the picture. .

    The idea that she can't really think of what people actually value in a house fire and thinks of _marriage licenses_ and _baptismal certificates_ of all things. What about beloved toys? Paintings? Mementos of dead loved ones kept in a jewellery box. Baby shoes and teeth, a child's first drawing. Those certificates can be easily replaced because there are _records._ I can see how a bible might be an heirloom, but as much as people value silverware I doubt it's what they reach for.

    As she explicitly says "silver", I'm guessing she meant silverware, but silver as itself has an incredibly high melting point, and while certainly not the highly on the periodic table, its heat resistance makes it perfect for mechanical and electrical uses in those industries. So unless this fire reached almost 1000 degrees C, the silver would have been mostly unscathed.

    I had a first date once where part-way through the guy got a call about his grandma about to be taken off of life-support. Being the nice guy I am I accompanied him to the hospital and stayed with him for a while. Not only was he there and his grandma was there, his ENTIRE extended family was there. Parents, aunts/uncles, cousins, etc. It was... pretty awkward.

      It’s been a while (couple decades at least) since I had subscriptions to Helequin/Silhoutte books, but this makes them look like the finest literature. While the stories were repetitious, the actual writing itself was typically not that bad. That’s why I was so confused by Twilight as it didn’t even meet that introductory standard of writing.

    Speaking of weird books based on political figures, you should maybe do a video of the Biden Mysteries book series. I haven't read a single one, but I came across one at Barnes & Noble. The cover had Biden on a rope tied to a helicopter piloted by Barack Obama. Not kidding.

    I have seen this sort of writing with novice fan fiction authors. Having character relationships spring out of nowhere normally comes about because the author spent weeks to months thinking about interactions between these characters specifically with the end goal of them being together and then forgot that none of the thousands of day dreamed interactions from their head ever made it to the page.

I saw your video on A Study In Scarlet, and honestly, it's one of the more normal Sherlock Holmes adventures

    This book definitely sounds like Liberty wanted a foe to lovers story but the pacing just doesn’t make it work at all and lacks the moments that makes those kinds of stories work. Also mildly creepy to go to someone’s office to ask them on a date when the last time you ask she froze in fear and hightailed it out of their.
    I can think of creepier things to do on a first date but they involve things like going to Holocaust museums and similar places. The Trump stuff did surprise me but considering the series it does make sense for him to appear in the final one.
    I enjoyed your look at these books and am curious if you are going to cover a new romance genre or because the strikes are over you can return to Lost in Adaptation.

    As someone who has been an election volunteer, the idea of getting signatures from 100% of registered members of a party in a district is absurd. Even if you’re trying to get signatures from a smaller group (I was once part of a campaign getting voters whose absentee ballots were rejected to fill out ballot cure forms) you will absolutely not get everyone.
