    Electric Dragon 80.000 V was a huge inspiration for me when I first got interested in filmmaking, I actually made a lil short film based on it.

      @@pedrotannus2232 Tried linking it in a comment but I think RUclips keeps deleting it. Made it public on my channel, it's called 'Punk Ster 230 Volt'. I still kinda like it, fun concept. It has that youthful insanity you have when you just get started on filmmaking.

    Awesome video! Why haven't I heard of this guy before? I need to watch Burst City for the music and visuals, if nothing else.

      Ishii doesn't have the huge amount of yearly output like some other directors in Japan. (namely Takeshi Miike and Sono Sion)
      So he might fly under the radar when it comes to contemporary filmmakers.

    I GOT AN ELECTRIC DRAGON DVD IN JAPAN BUT THE DAMN THING WAS REGION LOCKED SO I HAD TO RIP THE RUclips VERSION AND WATCH THAT AAAAARGH

      A Blu ray came out in Europe for this last year. It's region locked, but I have an unlocked player. It's awesome.

    I had the same exact experience with Burst City back in the 2000s. I'm expecting to enjoy it more when I re-watch it in the next few weeks.

    I renter this dvd 20 years ago at an underground video store. Ended up buying my own copy. Amazing film.
