    Just remember to call it by it’s full name. Discovery Sport. It’s not a Discovery they are a totally different larger vehicle. The Sport moniker is not a sub-model like titanium or limited it’s actually part of the name. A Discovery Sport is new line of vehicles.
    The driving position in the Discovery Sport IS a Command driving position (didn’t you read the spec sheet) with rear stadium seating 2” higher than the front seats.
    Additionally the Haldex implementation on this vehicles does not wait until slip is detected before sending power to the rear. It’s a proactive system and sends power rearward before slip (it will also do it with slip) but when you accelerate power is sent to all wheels and in certain off-road modes it does it much more aggressively.
    I own one of these vehicles.

      Gaming 4 Ohio Gameplay's & More Yes. 10 inches to the lowest point of the dif. It can also fit 34" tires with no mods, has solid front and rear axles, a front and rear locker, front swaybar disconnect, rock rails, and can actually flex. If you think a heavy ass LR4 will out wheel a Rubicon, you need to do less crack.

    When Subaru introduced the Crosstrek hybrid, they tested it in the same country, through rivers just as deep, during a legit blizzard. They had jacked up Land Cruisers on balloon tires tagging along to drag them out of snow drifts. Land Rover has turned into a sorry ass company.

    For a true test of the Discovery Sports credibility you will have to get away from the dangerous and unpredictable landscape of Iceland and get one on an American Land Rover dealership rock course. Nothing is more demanding than a purpose built track that demonstrates the terrain response without pushes these trucks past their capabilities. Plus the dealership course is funner than a trip to Dave & Buster' s. I can see Nathan giggling like a schoolboy. P.S. The music makes me feel like I've fallen into some dystopian dream that has left me pondering the existence of reality itself.

    Trust me, the parts especially the interior parts are not good quality or expensive inside a range rover or jaguar. I used to work for the company who made the interior veneers and they were made in china and then were colored in with a felt tip pen if there was any contamination on them lol!
    I would not recommend a jaguar or a landrover to anyone.

    Is it just me or does this look strangely like the 2016 Ford Explorer? And 8.3 I inches of ground clearance? That's less than a jeep renegade. Kind of sad honestly. Would wanna take this on anything past a dirt road or one of the flood bridges we have not too far from here.

  • @goatmonkey2112
    @goatmonkey2112 9 лет назад

    Well it looks pretty nice. That's about it though. I have a hard time getting excited about a company that until very recently used engines designed in the 1950s. Plus they have been consistently at or near the bottom of reliability and quality ratings for decades. I don't know how it has such a reputation as a good off road vehicle. It's nice that it can drive over a lot of terrain, but what are you supposed to do when you get deep into the wilderness and it breaks down?

    • @dchawk81

    • @bighands69
      @bighands69 9 лет назад

      Land Rover are over their reliability issues. And the only manufacturers that were better than them are Toyota and Mercedes.
      But modern budget Mercedes are no more reliable than Land Rover. A Mercedes M class is not more reliable or better performing off road than A Land Rover.
      Take a discovery (comparable to Mercedes M class) it would be able to drive anywhere where as I could not say the same about an M class.

    • @gdawg809
      @gdawg809 9 лет назад

      +bighands69 the 2014 JD Power results show Land Rover second from the bottom in reliability. Most owners will need to stick to the Land Rover rule of two. Buy two Land Rovers so you can drive one while the other is in the shop. 😄

    I don't mean to be crass, but did Land Rover charge you for the damaged drivers seat? In all honesty, this was a route that appeared to be hand picked, graded, and something that pretty much any all wheel drive could have handled. And one last question, was Nathan upset that he did not get to go and see all the beautiful Icelandic blondes?
