Actually you CAN turn on the GoPro (while it's attached to the gimbal), just use the voice command ''GoPro Turn On".
Note: When using the HERO6 Black camera, you can use Voice Control to turn on the camera for up to 8 hours after the camera has been turned off. Voice Control must be enabled and you must also turn on the option "Wake on Voice."
When using Fusion or HERO5 cameras alone, Voice Control is not enabled while the camera is powered off. If using Remo, you can power the camera on remotely using Voice Control.
You re one of the few people who actually tests the audio! Thanks! I'm so confused I don't know which gimbal is better for my GoPro for vlogs 🙈

Thank you Jeremy, this is a great review! I was trying to figure out if this gimbal was worth buying since I have the GoPro Hero 5 (LOTS of audio issues). After watching this I ended up ordering the GoPro Hero 4 Silver, the Feiyu gimble and also the Saramonic mic haha!
Just to say you can fit the hero5 with the mode button on the outside so you can still change modes as the hero5 has auto image rotation

NIce sound from that microphone, just searched ... not compatible with Hero 5 though.
I wonder if I can run a wire from a wired lavalier (and the gopro 5 microphone adapter) and
the gimbal will still work as it would without.

you can just flip the gopro upside down and mount it that way with access to the port
understandably the settings button on the side being covered is an inconvenience but just turn it on before hand and use the WiFi to connect with your phone if you really needed too change the settings ....it is a lot of work but just an option 4:12

Nice review but I put my Hero 4 lens first into the Feiyu, opposite to what you demonstrated. I used to do it like you but then the camera can come loose or even fall out of the gimbal as the screw does come loose when you trek or run with it. Also, you didn't mention the ability to charge the GoPro from the gimbal and the fact that you can buy extra battery(gimbal's) easily which is easy to cary around with.
This was so indepth! Thank you so much! I have had such trouble with motor noise on my hero5. Have you tried using an external mic plus a gimbal on the hero5? I've been avoiding paying for the adapter in the chance it won't work with the gimbal.

Not sure why anyone would want to use the GoPro mic for anything requiring decent audio in the first place. Did you try the Saramonic G mic with the Hero 5 and the Feiyu?
Also, does anyone pair the Hero 5 with an IPhone to monitor footage while shooting with a gimbal?
i stuck with feiyu tech for a couple years but after purchasing this and trying it out, i gotta say i was highly disappointed. returned it and bought another g4s instead.
this g5 was very unresponsive. motor noises very obnoxious. will try out other gimbals for hero5
FeiyuTech improves the voice-recording performance for the new WG2. They use buffering noise-reduction cotton. You can try in the way they did.
You can mount the gopro into it where all the controls are accessable
Jeremy, first thanks so much for your videos, they are very helpful! I have a couple questions; Do you prefer the Feiyu or the Karma gimbal? Also, Have you tested any mics with the Gopro 5?
For me it's between the REMOVU S1 and and the GoPro Karma Grip. Only mics I've tested with the HERO5 is the Rode VideoMicro. Been using it on my vlog channel.

By the way, what's your opinion about using Osmo Mobile and GoPro5 (with the adapter)?
Would the holder also take the GoPro 4 with waterproof case on? All reviews I have seen say the gimbal is splash proof but do not show it holding the GoPro with waterproof case.

With the counterweight on, that part of the gimbal with the counterweight scrapes the top of the handle when rotating. Is that natural?
Can you adjust the tilt in follow mode? So if you were holding it like you were filming your feet but wanted the camera facing forward, not down. I know karma can do this but trying to find a different gimbal that can as well.

I'm considering purchasing a gimble for go pro 3. Watching reviews has me somewhat indecisive now to which one is my best option for action video such as videoing at skateparks or utilizing the chesty mount while riding. Since it's an investment, i'd like to have the best option available. TIA.
REMOVU S1 or the Karma Grip are great choices. Not 100% sure if the Karma Grip is compatible with the HERO3 though.
Hi Jeremy, thank you for your review. May I ask you, if you have encountered that the G5 turns off when the gopro hero 4 is being charged thru the G5? If yes, may I ask if you have any advice on how to fix this problem. Thank you.
sad that when using the gopro 4, can't use the water proof case incase it rains or something!
it is compatible for session, but you will need to buy a separate adapter for it, there is plenty on Ebay but there all in china :(

Hey Jeremy, Thanks for the awesome review!!! Quick questions does it have the same feature i believe i has seen in the past models. Where you can charge the GoPro by cable while its being used?
No problem! So it comes with a short USB cable to charge the HERO4. I haven't been able to get it to work though. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. Another thing is that the USB cable is really short, so it pulls on the gimbal tilting the GoPro on an angle. So if it did charge, your GoPro would have a crooked horizon. One work around would be to use a longer USB cable. But still, I can't get it to charge from the gimbal.

Didn't do any editing to the footage. Shot in 4K30, Protune on, with GoPro Color.

I like the video. But my question is why is it so much noise? I use go pro hero 5 and using wind only even try the stereo only but still soooo much noisy from the motor😰

Aya Cataga don’t buy G5 can’t really do anything to make the motor noise gone. I returned the G5 the next day because of the noise. And i exchange with dji osmo mobile is better you can multiple use with phone and go pro. Just buy the mount plate for go pro to use in dji osmo mobile
