tion on how to use a knife safely.
Watch as chefs in B.C. share their first-hand experiences in this educational video, which can be a useful tool for health and safety training in kitchens on basic knife safety.
What are 15 knife safety tips?
1. Before working with a knife, set up your workstation.
2. Use a clean, damp cloth to secure your cutting board on the counter.
3. Store knives in a proper knife rack, block, or knife bag.
4. When storing knives in a knife bag, use knife guards.
5. Hold the knife with your dominant hand. With the other hand, hold the item tightly, curling your fingers inward.
6. Cut away from your body when trimming or deboning.
7. Put the knife down when talking.
8. Don't use a knife unless you can focus on the task.
9. Place knives with the blade facing away from you.
10. If you have to carry a knife, hold it close to your side with the blade facing down.
11. Announce when you're moving with a knife.
12. Clean knives after using them.
13. Don't put knives in the dishwasher.
14. Wear cut-resistant gloves whenever you can.
15. Don't use a knife as a substitute for another tool.

Great video for providing basic training to kitchen staff for any kitchen.
About damn time we started focusing on kitchens. Scariest things I've ever seen were in kitchens.
Like the hygeine
A refresher training for my Staff ! Thank You.
Excellent Safety film. Thank You.
I've been working in kitchens for 2 years now and until today only had one cut and it didnt't require stitches. Today however I slipped doing something basic and I needed 8 stitches across 2 fingers. I cut them to the bone. I got complacent due to being used to doing the same thing everyday. Always pay attention. I'm out of work for 2 weeks and have a serious injury. It's so easy to do.
Im sorry to hears

I know the feeling all too well. I slashed 3 of my fingers with box cutters 2 days ago. I required stitches also and while I'm still at work, I don't have the full use of my hand and have to be on guard while doing any task. My boss is a decent chap and he put me on light duties since. This type of injury is an absolute son of a bitch, but time is a great healer..
@nicholasricer9687 when in an Alpha state these things are more liable to happen.
Thank you
Love this video
so like... how do you hold something tight with your knuckles? my hold slipped and 4 stitches later here I am
I've pricked myself with 🔪s many times and it hurts a lot. Luckily, I have a parent or any other trusted adult help me out with them at home when it's the first time that I'm preparing vegetable side dishes on holidays that I celebrate with them during the COVID-19 outbreak. Safety first! It's very important to have an assistant help you out at home when preparing food or herbs that requires chopping with 🔪s (e.g. 🥕s, parsnips, 🧄, chives, rosemary, etc.). Parent worry about their kids deeply, because they don't want them to 🔚 up in the 🏥's ER all year during the holidays. 👍🏻 if you strongly agree and 🔚ed up in this situation multiple times at the same time.
I wonder how did you communicate before emojis were invented
👎🙄
I’ve already had one deep cut and a shallow cut and both the same finger. Now,everytime I hold a knife I get paranoid and I’m very very careful when slicing food.
Good
