    SO helpful--I wish I had thought to look for a video like this before I redid my design file 15 times. 😂 It looked ever so slightly misaligned where there are diagonal lines/edges, but when I zoom in it all looks fine. Relieved I'm not losing my mind. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

      Awww, it's frustrating, huh! I've been there 😅 Happy to have confirmed that you're not losing your mind at all 😉

    Thank you. Well done video! Also, if you do another video, I would like to know how to properly size my elements in a design. For example, if I create a design with repeating flowers at 3500x3500 pixels dpi 300: it gets lowered in dpi to 150. Should I just create my design at 150? What happens on the Spoonflower side after uploading a design and I change the dpi option back to 300 dpi and save? Does it adjust the size of the tile and affect the details of the design? I hope my questions make sense.Thanks for any help you can offer. Best Regards!

      You're so welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
      Ah, yes. DPI on Spoonflower is tricky to wrap your head around in the beginning.
      When you save your design at 150dpi with motifs that are 1 inch... when you upload it to Spoonflower your motifs will print exactly the same size (1 inch).
      However, if you save your file at 300dpi and upload it to Spoonflower, the dimensions of your design (and all the motifs) will double in size, meaning a 1-inch motif will become 2 inches in size. You can rescale the design in the Spoonflower interface, if needed.
      Spoonflower will always adjust the dpi of the file to 150dpi no matter what dpi you save it at, and the dimensions of the file will increase if you upoad a dpi above 150dpi and decrease in size if you upload a file that's been saved below 150dpi.

    Thank you for this Erin! When a design is private, the menu also shows 'Make For Sale' and it makes your design public and checks the two boxes at once ;-)

    Hello. Does it make more sense to sell the patterns on stock sites or does it make more sense to sell them on sites like spoonflower?

    • @erin__kendal
      @erin__kendal  6 месяцев назад +1

      You can do both. Personally, I think Spoonflower is the best use of time given the royalty potential and opportunity to build relationships with customers to gain repeat clients.

    I agree. Diagonals are the hardest 🤷🏻‍♀️ - same thing happens to me with plaids (the diagonals look misaligned)

    Hi Erin and thanks for video. However, I must tell you that I see a lot of videos on RUclips in which people talk with great enthusiasm about changes in Spoonflower, such as the fact that we no longer have to buy samples to be able to put our designs on the line. Unfortunately this is not true. I have an account where I put my patterns and at the beginning it was like you said. However, after posting 20 designs (on different days or even weeks 2024), suddenly my designs can only be public or private, but no longer for sale. Of course, I emailed Spoonflower asking why, and they replied that I had to purchase at least one sample to confirm my address. So is it free now or do you still have to pay as before?
    I sent a second email but did not receive any response from Spoonflower.
    Sorry for my English, but I don't know the language very well

    • @erin__kendal
      @erin__kendal  10 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Aleksa 🤗 It is free. You just need to order one physical item to verify your address, and then that's it-you won't need to order anything else. You can order just a single swatch to confirm your address, and you can continue uploading your patterns while you wait for it to be shipped. As soon as it's shipped you'll be able to mark them all for sale without paying for proofs.
      I hope this helps 😊

    I don't see what's wrong with the diagonal line pattern. That whole discussion went completely over my head.

    • @erin__kendal
      @erin__kendal  Месяц назад

      Hi Sheila, it is a little difficult to see in the video, but it looks jagged... diagonal lines don't look smooth so it makes you think your pattern repeat is misaligned (when it isn't). You might like to try upoading a diagonal pattern yourself-you'll see what I mean 😅
