Whenever I see talk about their past corpo, I am reminded of when Dizzy got asked early on what she thinks causes most small startup vtuber companies to fail and her answer was "Hubris" said instantly and with total conviction. I fully believe she was talking from experience
Don’t know why I only now got this recommended, but better late than never. Being there for this stream live and hearing stuff that most VTubers don’t talk about was pretty surreal. I’m just glad she seems in a much better place now than she was back then. We mock the fish, but he’s doing a great job making sure everyone is happy.
Phase isn't without rules but it seems talent are given way more latitude to talk about this kinda stuff if they want to. Some are super Coy, others keep it to members only like Jelly, Ember is being indirect but clear but some are extremely open about things. Dizzy has talked in detail about her PL and even necroed it for a bit. Phase has NDAs but it seems they hardly need them because when I went digging it seemed like any information Phase was not disclosing genuinely was to protect the terminated Talent. If even half of the rumoured reasons were true, almost any other agency would have absolutely trashed the girls life but phase let her upload a goodbye video kept the channel up long enough for archivers and wished her well in the public statement. Even from a cynical perspective it makes sense for them to do the right thing. The western market is far more sensitive to how talent are treated so supporting talent properly and choosing talent that will benefit most from said support is best for PR. You have to give credit to fishman though. I actively tried to find any evidence of malfeasance and couldn't find anything beyond random haters, schizo posts and people who just hate women lol.
@@ThePontiffofPonWolfI think, that newest additions to PC (two whole gens), more investment in marketing etc. just gave results and this clip resurfacing after this long time is just side effect of PC getting more traction lately. I was looking for some background of this organisation and by chance got your video on recommendations.
It seems the algorithm gods have decided to show me this insane clip today. And honestly, as much we all meme sakana here alot. Im really happy fishman brought these invaders in. Ember, Dizzy, jelly and Lumi and the rest of the Phase gals all seem to be so happy here. Thank you Fishman for bringing them here. Im so happy ember is happy here ♥ 🐀
4:46 - 5:01 really hits hard for me. Bosses can pretend to be positive and make poor choices that affect the livelihoods of their employees, and you're expected to let it slide every time, which only enables them to do it again and again. I hope Ember fares much better in Phase.
I didn't get into Tsunquest and the rest of Tsunderia for long, and it's sad to see the talents get treated the way they did, but it's nice to see them all doing well after the company went down. I found Ember first (when she was still Kallin) and I fell in love with her and company since I found her. I honestly liked them more than Hololive, VShoujo, etc. And I'm also happy that they all stay in touch with each other (or at least I hope they still do from time to time). Such a shame, but Ember and Dizzy have found a new home, and glad they are seeming much happier these days.
Being a fan of mainly the big guns Holo and Niji and only more recently getting into the smaller companies, I really don't know much about Tsunderia or the past life of some talents, but man it must have been a shitshow and I feel bad for the talents who had their dreams, promises and livelihoods crushed by incompetent managers. Ember has a very chill and comfy vibe and I'm glad to hear she feels more stable and welcome in Phase now, thank you fishman! Also she has EU friendly streaming times like Panko, which makes my life much easier.
After hearing all this from Ember it honestly sounds like my favorite former Tsunderia agents Ami and Lisa are alot better off going indie. Don't get me wrong if they ever get adopted into another agency (Lisa would probably fit with Phase since she and Pippa look like they enjoy the companionship and Ami's singing seriously deserves Prism Project's attention) more power to them.
As basically day1 fan of Tsunderia, and VERY aware of all the stuff they went through (actually been very early fan of many Phase Girls, including Pippa's old life, Lumi and Yuri's failed agency...) I'm glad they feel accommodated and confident to stream and make good content and shine on their talents (which is what we wanted and needed from them) To this day I'm still a big fan of the Tsundream group too, including Kazune, Nen and Tomoya!
Ember seems really chill. I wish she didn't share a time slot with Ami so I could catch more of her streams. I remember when Pippa put out a video on Tsunderia and mentioned how it was the first English Vtuber company and I was shocked. Having started watching them after finding Phase and seeing them with only Gen 3, Hanabi, and Purin I thought they were much less established. That company really knew how to pick talent though.
Honestly, im sure i wasnt the only fan who knida knew the writing was on the wall for tsunderia when Ura left and figured the tsunquest girls left because of it.
I don't doubt a lot of the team at her old company were talented in technical skills, it just sounds like they had no idea how to run a company centered around talents, who are people. You need people who are socially competent and get pleasure out of helping others - like the acts of service kind of people, I think.
Very interesting discussion in the clip. I wasn't around and only saw the aftermath for Tsunderia, so it's interesting to hear details from people who were involved. I know I watched part of this stream but apparently missed this discussion so thanks for the clip!
I really wish I already would've watched Ember back then. Ria was the only Tsunderia Girl I sometimes watched (and I really fell in love with her content in her later life), but I didn't watch the other girls, because I was so busy following all the big ones already. Ember already said that I didn't really miss something, but I can't imagine her ever being a bad streamer or a boring person, so I'm really sad that I only found her this late
I saw Ria in one collab, thought she was cool, next stream she did was her graduation. Oops. Later on I was watching Rosemi (I think she was playing cuphead?), was looking at the Holo EN gen 2 announcement and saw a rat in there and figured "hey Tsunderia had a rat too, maybe..." so I went to check out a Ria clip and, well... was pretty surprised I was hearing a very similar voice coming from both video windows I had open. So that rat theory was a bit off.
I found tsunderia sketchy from day 1 when they started out riding kana's coat tails and was unsurprised when she decided to leave only a few months after making the change. I didnt watch anything from that company since then.
That's an incredibly low bar to pass. I genuinely think some of the talent at phase would literally be dead if they were at such a company. I think phase is more comparable to Vshojo. They aren't as free with IP but they give way smaller talent a chance and help develop them and seem to not have some of the cliques that Vshojo has. If you're a refugee with a big following you go to Vshojo if you're small but with a lot of potential you go to Hololive, Idol or Phase depending on luck and personal circumstances. Holo is meant to be pretty good but the talent have to deal with Japanese copyright BS. Idol seems to want to do the right thing but I'm yet to decide on implementation.

The more I learn about Urara, the more I respect her. She is a very professional, hardworking manager and now a great talent. Ember was so brave for this. Both are people I aspire to be 🤍💙
It's honestly quite interesting hearing her and Dizzy talking about such stuff. Sasuga fishman for giving the girls a new home they're happy with.

Bro same. Only got this recommended now lol 😂
Why did I get recommended this clip 7 months later? I was here for this! I was in the chat!
Great clip, though. Ember doesn't really go deep into this again since that day.
Good question tbh

Managing a a bunch of people, streaming and starting memes for other companies. Urara was a triple threat

mad respect for Ember. especially with the S Train groomer guy. Mod abuse behind the scenes is more common than most think in the vtubing scene.
Who is S Train and what did he do?
