I hope you’re able to see this and can take the time to reply. I moved from the area in 2015 and right now I’m looking to move back and I was going to get a condo in keystone but after seeing this I’m not so sure. The entire reason I was going to buy a condo at keystone was because of the park. Do they still run a decent medium sized park at A51? (Like the alley, park lane.) and more importantly, do they still set up XL Main Street jumps? The main reason I wanted to live near keystone was because I’m coming to train and their Main Street jump line was a big part of that.. If they don’t I’m going to get a place closer to breck. Would appreciate some insider info here as it’s a huge investment and I don’t want to settle near the wrong mountain. I’m going to be so bummed if they don’t run a large/XL park anymore….. breck has the large jump line but it’s so much busier!
Keystone should move the park to Jane's Journey off Bergman Express and give Packsaddle bowl back to all mountain riding and replace A51 chair with a highspeed lift from the bottom of Richter to the top of Peru. That's awesome terrain that is mostly wasted.
I was at Keystone today and it's a bummer how much A51 has gone downhill from last year. There are some jumps now though and pretty mellow. The jumps in lower I70 are fun. There only like one box in the whole park. One thing that is cool is they were pushing for the pipe in lower Main Street that is a fun size 8-10ft. I don't think it'll ever be like 2009-2015 status with Vail's budget cuts towards terrain parks. Not having anything in Easy Street is so disheartening to see too.
do you ride your burton custom camber at the reference stance or do you ride at some other stance to make it a true twin instead of having that slight directional shape to it would love to know because i just got one for myself first new board in MANY years thank you
The reference stance is true twin.. the contact points are what's twin so you don't notice a difference of the tapered nose unless in deeper snow or powder.
Directional Volume Twin which essentially offsets the nose and tail volumes (not nose and tail lengths) to increase float. Directional Volume Twin snowboards have a symmetrical flex, centred stance, and a true twin shape - just with more float when you need it.
What are the chances they'll have some jumps by March? Going to Keystone for the first time the second week in March. We're not bad at all for rookies, but it'll be me and my son's second time snowboarding and we are definitely checking out A51. Was hoping to try some jumps. I feel like I'm less likely to get hurt on a small jump versus a small rail. lol
My second trip to Keystone , we went up Peru lift and one of the features looked like someone had lost at least a quart of blood. My daughter and her friends were pretty freaked out at all the blood. They were 2nd and 3rd graders.
Hi Jonathan! I was discussing with my two kids to write to you and we had hoped to meet you out in Keystone! My daughter said she tried but I don't believe her now ( she is 10 YOA and my son is 12 YOA and always watches you after he started watching you because of me! Anyways we were really hoping to come across you! Incidentally, we sympathize with your feeling on Keystone. We are pretty upset with them. I forwarded an email to their corporate executives on their questionable management policies and such. Anyway, maybe I will hear from ya! would be awesome!
Reference stance is true twin as far as contact points are concerned. The tapered spoon nose only makes a real difference when in deeper snow. If you shift your stance back more off of Reference then you are making it a directional feel with twin contact points
Directional Volume Twin which essentially offsets the nose and tail volumes (not nose and tail lengths) to increase float. Directional Volume Twin snowboards have a symmetrical flex, centred stance, and a true twin shape - just with more float when you need it.
@@lowkey-doki the reference stance on the custom is set back half an inch but other than that and the longer nose outside of the contact point it’s essentially twin
It's just a money thing. Families bring money, big time. Park rats do not. Terrain park slope angles just so happen to be perfect for family skiing as well. Money talks and b.s. walks as ACDC put it.
Why do all resorts do this to parks??? Like I get skiing is more accessible and for families now. But you literally sign a waiver when you get a pass that the mtn isn’t responsible if you get hurt. Makes no sense
Cause of vail, they want skier family’s who will spend a ton of money just to ski down one hill then spend more money on restaurants. It sucks but that’s just how it is.
Yep Capitalism. Parks don't bring the crowds of people spending money. Parks are being concentrated at all resorts, not just Vail. Any place that has a Woodward is more park focused.
I don't think you understand what trash or pass means you basically said its either trash or I would rather not snowboard on the terrain park. I get the reference to smash or pass but u took the "good one" smash and made it bad? that makes zero sense

It really is so sad but at least we got it when it was good!
Snow and more parks right around the corner 🎉
Almost threw up in my mouth a little when I saw the rollers under Peru.

i love that jacket, and you have a red one. but not linked in the discription. what brand jacket is that?

Huh?

Maybe they moved it over so it’s not as visible from that lift & ppl coming down to/from schoolmar won’t keep riding over to the big stuff either..?
