    My local park just closed so I made this rail and I have never been so creative and had so much fun skating

    I just spent $21 on the same rail you just made and it came out pretty good.I can't wait until my skates come in tomorrow to actually try it out. Thanks you so much for the tips!!!

    Just built this, cost $60 USD in Canada, but that's with an extra few feet of PVC and tons of spare 2x6! Thanks for the inspiration :) Super fun on the skateboard and scooter!!

    Man, I made this exact p rail but it had to be stored in my Florida garage and in less than 2 months the legs warped and it rocks instead of sitting flat.

  • @GeorgeWPush

    I just built this today for $25. Its a good idea to put a chunk of 1.5 inch wood under the middle so it doesnt snap in half!

    • @SpookyBoots
      @SpookyBoots  4 года назад +2

      I've considered it. But I really don't think it will break like that. I usually carry this rail around by myself to skate spots so if I put legs in the middle it will make carrying it more awkward than it already is.

    Have you had any problems with the PVC? I'm making a similar design but I don't know why the pipe it's moving and bending regardless of putting many screws

    • @SpookyBoots
      @SpookyBoots  4 года назад

      No I haven't had any issues with the PVC I don't know why it would be moving on you like that. I think I started at one end and made my way to the other making sure the pipe wasn't twisted or anything like that. Could it be started with a warped pipe?

  • @letsblade5082
    @letsblade5082 4 года назад +1

    So after a few months, have you had any issues with this design? I like it because it's simple. How are the L brackets holding up?

    • @SpookyBoots
      @SpookyBoots  4 года назад +4

      None at all! I just had a good and long session on it just the other too. The rail is still up right and the brackets are not bending. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I thought that maybe I would have to tighten the screws after a few months but haven't had to yet.

  • @artemroots

    Very nice project! Thanks for the list in the description. Want to build something like that to practice grinds while I work from home. Do you think a bigger radius pipe would be better for frames with bigger groove (Oysi)?

    • @SpookyBoots
      @SpookyBoots  4 года назад +1

      No problem! You could go bigger if you wanted and I think it will be just as good. I believe the Oysi frames have a nice wide groove kind of like the Aeons I'm riding. A bigger PVC will be closer to your inside wheels. But with all that wheel bite protection I don't think it will really matter. I think it only really matters if you're looking to do negative tricks. The bigger the pipe the harder negative tricks start to become.

    Yo man I noticed the PVC pipe isn't sliding very good, i mean it slides for fronside/backside but my soul plates are sticking do I need a certain type of wax you think?

    • @SpookyBoots
      @SpookyBoots  3 года назад +2

      I just use regular skate wax. If you just built it, it will need a break in period. They don't slide amazing right away. After it's broken in make sure to clean it every once in a while too. Or else old wax and dirt will build up.

    • @peanutnitti7073
      @peanutnitti7073 3 года назад +1

      @@SpookyBoots ok cool what do you suggest I clean it with like alchohol and a rag?

    • @SpookyBoots
      @SpookyBoots  3 года назад +1

      No I would recommend a wool scrub pad or some very fine sandpaper just to knock off the dirt and wax You don't need to use anything wet.

    Does it work with skateboard bro?

    • @SpookyBoots
      @SpookyBoots  3 года назад

      It can, but I would recommend a metal pipe for stakeboarding, as the trucks will really eat up the PVC.

  • @mujq7879
    @mujq7879 2 года назад +1

    Would this work for a skateboard or would it be too light

    • @SpookyBoots
      @SpookyBoots  2 года назад

      Boardslides, Tailslides, and Noseslides should be fine. However I have 50-50 this rail before and it's not the greatest if you're kingpins are longer than the trucks. Also it's PVC so it's relatively soft and I've noticed that really beat up jagged trucks can sink into it and stop you.

    • @mujq7879

      @@SpookyBoots would a metal or pvc pole work better

    • @SpookyBoots

      @@SpookyBoots do you think pvc would be durable and if so how long would it last

    • @SpookyBoots

      I guess it depends on how often and hard you skate.

  • @sirnelsor6033
    @sirnelsor6033 4 года назад +1

    Do you think this Would work with a skateboard?

    • @SpookyBoots
      @SpookyBoots  4 года назад

      It could work. But if you are a beginner I would recommend a square rail. Also I think a metal pipe would be better for a skateboard.

    • @alexstewart4045
      @alexstewart4045 3 года назад +1

      I got it home.. what in the world do you use / size of screws on the brackets for the legs..? 2 inches seems way big

    • @SpookyBoots
      @SpookyBoots  3 года назад

      So I believe I used 2-in wood screws for drilling the legs into the 2x6 and in terms of L brackets I think I used one and a half I think.

    Seem not be solid for long time, think a triangle construction is safer... 🤔

    • @SpookyBoots
      @SpookyBoots  4 года назад +3

      I haven't had any issues yet with the L brackets bending or breaking. There is a lot of flex to the rail being designed like this but it's nothing too crazy. I like the height I get with this design also I think it's more lightweight vs the triangular design. I recommend building for what fits your needs best.
