I guy I used to work with had a woodchuck he saved as a baby he kept as a pet, it was like a little dog, it would sit on the couch and watch TV with them, scratch on the door when it wanted to go outside, just overall smart and adorable

very calm animal. when I was a kid, me and my brother found one in the woods and brought it home to be our new pet. We had to take it right back to where we fpund it, lol.

Why couldn't they be kept as pets? And why not approach them in the wild? They can't be that dangerous ahaha come on look at that cute baby chubby face

There's two in my backyard always eating from people's gardens and what not. I live in the city and have no idea why they live where they do. Needless to say, they do get close to people if they have food, but never too close. I have noticed the birds and squirrels tend to do the same here.

They say that to reminder too people..but they should say "avoid dangerous ones."
Someone gets hurt by woodland creature..they were asking for it..what I think..
they even say don't approach deers. I get that but all of mine are tame in my neighborhood.
And we all kind of know them...sooo...

They can have rabies if they bite you watch out.

They commonly get rabies. Healthy ones that haven't grown accustomed to human interaction will just run away unless cornered.
