Hello again.rewatched your part 3 video.interesting that Switzerland does not have roaming but what I use is car sat navs used. with free EU updates costs about £15 from e bay. Much cheaper than paying for them.and as others have said I update the maps offline on my phone as well. so does not use data just down load when you can get free WiFi like McDonald's.i have a 2006 vespa gt200 still has a top speed of 75mph which does not have usb charger and because it's electric start only did not want to connect a charger directly to the battery.so instead I use a power pack of 20000ma to power the sat navs about £12. Also as a phone power back up because I believe a flat phone is no good to anyone. As for breakdown cover I use the AA from nationwide bs costs about £15 a month for full cover anywhere in Europe.i forgot to tell you the AA cover is for any vehicle regardless of age so if you have 2 bikes and a car your covered. In the UK or EU as a lot of companies won't cover my 19 year old vespa even though it's only got 3000 miles it. recently bought it. Don't forget a small petrol container the scooter ones hold about 2 1/2 litres about 40 miles for you.
Thanks the third great video. Your so right about you can do it on the cheap. Camping is great but these days I use cheap hotels. With regards to food & drink ok not exactly Gourmet but Mc Ds are everywhere as are Aldi and Lidl. Even survived at times on Haribo sweets 😂. And if you want that riding abroad feeling Head for Calais and from there WW1 sites are easily reached.
Lovely Well done 👍 I’m on Giffgaff, did a wee job in Austria this year, flew into Zurich, no bloody data, so no sat nav. And 27 quid for a wee bowl of salmon salad thing in Zurich airport 😞😂 I’ve been over that road from Martigny on my RT. It’s something else round there.
@@mikeosborn24688sorry, I meant my data all worked fine as soon as I got into Austria, and I’m only on a 12 quid a month thing. Absolutely nothing in Switzerland though..
@@mikeosborn24688 Switzerland does not "follow EU and UK laws". Laws for flying with drones are different in the EU and in the UK. UK drone laws are very slack compared to EU laws. Also drones are banned in Swiss national parks. You are definitely "winging it" as is common for most British travelers posting on RUclips.
Hi Keith, I think I love using the beeline too much. As I've ended up in some epic places, through missing a turning. Moving forward I will download online maps 1st. Then I'll not have that problem. Really appreciate your comment 🙏
Loved every minute of this, I done Switzerland last year with my Son, we both rode through to Italy. My son had the same issue with data roaming, but I didn't. I'm on Tesco mobile and I used Android Auto all the way from France to Italy. I'm guessing certain networks have issues. We off again this year to spend longer in Switzerland, my only worry is Stevilo pass 😮. Any tips. Thanks for 3 enjoyable vlogs.
Hi, thanks for your great comment. I'm heading toward Austria and back through Italy this summer, and taking an extra week, so more epic scenery. As long as your brakes are OK, don't worry about the passes, just enjoy them. Ride Safe
Hi Gianni, You are right. Herald does not have the best reputation 😉. But this one is proving great. After almost 8000 miles or 13,000km it's really got under my skin.
Another brilliant video with spectacular roads and views
Many thanks!
Glad you got there safely. It's a challenging trip but amazing.
It really is! Can't wait for the next one.
Good on you ! Switzerland is such a beautiful country and Italy is also .
It really is!
@@adrianiles6019 it's amazing. So much so I want to go back..

Hi Peter, you will see in the next episode tomorrow. I do just that by using McDonald's wifi. 😊

You can download the entire journey on to your telephone and then use it off line. That way you do not have to use the data. 😊🇩🇰
That's definitely the way forward. Thanks 😊
Lovely
Well done 👍

Thanks, Martin. Nice to know Austria has the same problem. I'm hoping to head through Austria this year..

Did you check the drone regs for each country, or are you just "winging it" 🙂
Hi Switzerland, follow EU and UK laws. My drone is under 250g, so it must be registered, which it is
@@mikeosborn24688 thanks, mine is UK registered too

Wonderful, did you have to buy a vignette for Switzerland seeing as you didn't use the motorways?
@privatebribert I didn't buy one. But perhaps I should have checked, but I was under the impression it was only for motorways. No fines though
Methinks you should invest in a dedicated motorcycle Sat Nav! Either Garmin or Tom Tom, no chance of running out of data 🤔.

It certainly is I hope I get to see it again one day
Brave of you to do the trip on the worst bike on the market with 27hp well done you first class anything is possible
