Music was composed by Kiko Loureiro (now Megadeth) and lyrics by Rafael Bittencourt. Edu Falaschi shared vocals with Kai Hansen in Temple of Hate Also the album has Brazilian influence in songs like Late Redemption
Two vocalists in this song, by the way. Surprised you couldn't tell since Kai Hansen (Helloween, Gamma Ray) has a distinctly raspy voice compared to Edu Falaschi's (Angra's second singer) more clean vocal style. They bounce back and forth, line to line, between each other.
Amazing react! You both are adorable, specially her, that was so optimistic about the song and that seemed to be really touched by it. If you want to feel Angra's dark atmosphere you should listen to "No Pain for the Dead", "Abandoned Fate", "Deep Blue", "The Bottom of my Soul", "Crushing Room" "OMNI - Silence Inside", "Ashes" and many more. Though Angra is a Power Metal band, they have huge prog influences and have a lot of songs that are way more deep and complex, musically and lirically, than the traditional Power Metal bands. Cheers from Brazil!
Winds of Destination is another great song off of this album. There is actually quite a bit of versatility on this album that will surprise you. Blind Guardians singer sings on Winds of Destination along with Edu.
That's kewl. I have a bad habit of wanting to correct people. Sometimes I slip and don't catch myself before it's too late. Also I'm a bit of a grammar nazi. It sometimes sucks. But anyway love the channel. You guy's need to check out some Straight Line Stitch. Awesome band!!!
I almost heard from this beautiful girl a "Praise the Lord" while listening to this song. I know this Brazilian band since 1994. I loved meeting this channel. Thanks
This is the 5th album from Angra. Its not the original singer, Andre Mattos. He has a one of a kind voice, a unique and beautiful texture, I reeeeeeeally recomend listening to "Angra - Carry On", from the first album. Also if you want something darker my favorite song is "Angra - Nothing to Say". And be prepared for the Brazilian Invasion. You opened the Pandora's Box! :D
hey guys! as a brazillian i want to say how happy i am seeing you two discovering Angra, they represent our country to the world and make us very proud. Yes they are a power metal band but also have very different facets to their sound, they incorporate more heavy and progressive styles in some songs and also bring a lot of traditional brazillian cultural music in the mix. their second album Holy Land is the best example, it's a concept album about the colonization of Brazil and it has a very rich and complex sound. If i may give you guys some more recommedantions i would say listen to: Hunters and Prey - a kind of brazzilian folk metal, very different and beautiful Carolina IV - a 10 minute epic very progressive and well arranged Lisbon - a power ballad with amazing solos The Shadow Hunter - another epic with spanish acoustic guitar and beautiful melodies Black Widow's Web - from their recent album. much more heavy and modern featuring Sandy (a brazillian pop singer) and Alissa White Gluz from Arch Enemy. They released an amazing video just two days ago. You guys are amazing and I hope you can listen to more Angra to understand how creative they are and the richness of our culture. Cheers \m/
Gustavo Camargo Hi, sunshine! Thank you so much! We most definitely will be reacting to more Angra and other interesting bands. Thank you for the live and support. I appreciate you!🤗😘😘😘💖🤘🏾
Many years ago, right around the time this song came out, I was up late one night on the computer. I decided to try Winamp's streaming radio stations for the first time ever. This song was starting as I loaded the stream and I sat there captivated the entire time and became an immediate fan of the band. Fast-forward to 2018 and I finally had the immense pleasure of seeing them not once, but twice, after all those years. Their live show is so great that they had to be added to my list of best shows I've seen.
Very nice to see people reacting to Angra! Thanks for this video! "Temple os Shadows" is a conceptual album, so every song has a connection with the backstory. Would be awesome to see you both react to "The shadow hunter" or "Sprouts of time". Maybe "late redempetion" wich has some portuguese lines on it!
One point that is debatable is that this kind of music (specifically in this song) may not be happy, but powerful. The element of power in combination with neo-classical style may give some people the feeling of happiness which they may or may not like. Give the pioneering Progressive metal band "Fates Warning" a chance. I think they're not credited as much as they deserve it. For example check out these songs: The Apparition Silent Cries The Eleventh Hour Still Remains I've enjoyed several of your videos. You two give me good, friendly vibes. Cheers
I don't know if this was answered but I didn't see it in the comments that I read. But I can't read nearly 300 to find out. You got the harpsichord answer but the other, the violin sound, is a synthesizer (keyboard). A very popular instrument in many metal genres, particularly in the European market.
That drummer (Aqueles Priester) was one of the 7 drummers chosen to try out for Dream Theater to replace Mike Portnoy... and Kiko is now in Megadeth... so yeah, great band!
Keep those power metal reactions going! They always brighten my day :D You guys asked for some Blind Guardian suggestions, here you go: Blind Guardian - Tanelorn (Into the Void). Also the live version of Nightwish - Romanticide (live at Wacken) is pretty heavy power metal stuff with heavy riffs. Would love to see reactions to these songs :)
Are you kidding me? The chorus is the best part of the music. There are two vocalists and they seem to fight throughout the song until they reach the chorus, when they reach the peak of the song. The lady almost cried the second time she heard the chorus
Savatage+ when the Crowds are Gone.. awesome..one of thier best..no one has covered it yet.Be the first.Eveyone does Hall of the Mountain King..and never gives thier other songs a chance..They have so many great songs to offer.
I just want to thank you all so much for the continued love and support you give to our channel. I appreciate you all for accepting me and understanding me, as a (sometimes) overly emotional being ^_^ There is NO BETTER feeling in the world, than to feel accepted and understood. Some people come across my channel and over criticize me for being the way that I am. They do not understand me. But, thankfully, the majority of you, who watch our reactions and have subscribed to us, do. You understand and accept what we have to offer to this youtube world of reaction channels. It feels so wonderful =) You are all so beautiful. virtual hugs and kisses on the forehead to all of you. Peace. Love and light.
8:08 Cembalo/Harpsichord? 12:10 Wolf, I feel you. More than you'd think. Ever heard of Antimatter? You'd probably adore them just as much as I do. Anathema and Songs:Ohia would fall into the same category. Strap in for a ride, mate ;)
Wolfkain.. I think the instrument you are thinking of is a harpsicord. As for the music itself. I liked it. I'm not in love with it. Made me think of Helloween for some reason. Anyways great job again guys,
I agree with Wolf on the Doom and Black metal comment. Nothing wrong with happy, but the melancholy and darkness of Doom and Black metal bring me serenity. You and Wolf should also check out "Rapture" by Slumber (another Swedish band).
¡Hola! Saludos desde Chile. Si te gustan los violines, deberías escuchar a Neobliviscaris "y plagar las flores en la pestaña del caleidoscopio" es simplemente hermoso
I think I might actually have to agree with wolf this time. Although I do like power metal, this was something that wouldn’t be a constant in my playlist. I know the other video wolf mentioned Static X, and how Wayne Static had passed. Perhaps you could play Push it off Wisconsin Death trip. It has a great video to go with an excellent song.
I've got a great suggestion for her. I really think she's absolutely love Kamelot - Ghost Opera. Roy Khan's vocals were amazing. I really think he's appreciate the dark aura that Kamelot had. (Roy Khan is no longer the vocalist :'( )
I assure you that when sista listens to the power metal ballads she will cry for forever. Example: wings of destiny by rhapsody of fire or don't stop being crazy by helloween or before the winter by stratovarius or into the unknown by avantasia. Let alone ghost love score by Nightwish hahaha
Classic would be something like Stratovarius - Black Diamond or Kiss of Judas or A Million Light Years Away or Millenium. Phew, the have so many great anthems!
I can't remember which video was where you say both you sistah and wolfkain love and/or play bass guitar... if this is true, you should REALLY check out and react to The Omnific songs like Kismet, Sonorous or Objets de Vertu. I hope you read this! xD Insectation here, from twitch :D
Leo Michelli Insectationnn!! Hi, baby! Regarding the bass, I was going to send that I love listening to Bass. Neither one of us plays the bass guitar. 😊 Thank you so much for your comment, your love and support! We are always taking notes, so please stay tuned! P.s., my heart smiles so wide, knowing that you also support me on twitch. 😄🤗😍😘💖
Guys!!! Huge thanks, I frankly never saw anyone react to ANGRA before, and they so deserve it! I will second someone below writing that if you want to check out "darker" ANGRA (to suit Wolf's taste as well ;)), you could go with "No Pain for the Dead", or "Late Redemption" off the same album (yes, the variety is insane, and it is one more trait of great power metal!). "Late Redemption" even has parts of traditional Brazilian singing style - also part of ANGRA style. You should also check out the band of the charismatic guest singer for "The Temple of Hate" - Kai Hansen. The band is called GAMMA RAY. It falls into the sub-genre of "Germanic power metal", which means - less frills, more power. And not all happy... For the happier part of the "RAYS", you could check a space travel song like "Beyond the Black Hole", while for the epic with a hint of darkness - go for "Armageddon". That one has it all. Lastly, you asked about the best BLIND GUARDIAN song to start with... Man this is tough to pick, which may be why not many online reactors even try them... BLIND GUARDIAN, after all, is on a plain of their own: they started in the 80's as a kind of melodic thrash, but then developed into maybe the best epic-power metal group out of Europe! I say, start with "Imaginations from the Other Side" or "Mirror Mirror" for full impact (and NO, a happy squealer of a vocalist this is not!!!), then check out "Nightfall" for its minstrelsy - the song that got a new generation of fans into them - including me. :) Keep up the good work! You are great in what you are doing here! And P.S.: The 18th century instrument played with a wig (not required lately!) is called the harpsichord. A very European thing.
Okay okay you got me. NO ONE does Angra. This band along with Lost Horizon, Kamelot, and Iced Earth inspired me in my teenage years as a drummer as well as a person. Subbed guys - thank you.

Shadow hunter by Angra - Very different song that shows the nuances and talents of its musicians

"time what is time" from Blind Guardian :Somewhere far Beyond: or Nightfall from the album "Nightfall in Middle Earth"
I think the instrument you were talking about the guy with wig plays is a harpischord.
Demons & Wizards - Fiddler on the green. this is a kind of super group the singer of Blind guardian with Iced Earth.
