Outstanding maiden flight Will! Brother you're going to really enjoy it and learn a ton. So glad you like it! I look forward to seeing more of this Edge and your flying journey!
I agree.. I got the same motor as you guys got in yours.. Great plane and heads to the field almost every time... Its a very capable plane. I wish I was a bit more capable pilot.. :-). Thanks for commenting and watching - Will
3d beginner pilots? This works for beginners pilots generally! I like 3d and I was scared to try until seeing you!thank you!Very nice plane I just ordered the same and I put a tmotor am480 combo. Did you setup with extended limits? 120% ? What are the differences in degrees beyond low and high rates?
My buddy at Model AV8R, Adam helped me set mine up.. Here is what I have for throws - Ail - 35degrees with 75% expo, Elev - 45 degrees and 75% expo, Rudder is maxed out and about 1/2" from touching the elev with 55% expo. I did setup dual rates at first and just reduced the throw a little.. I will probably increase my Elev throw as I get a bit more comfortable with her. Good luck my friend - Will
The first time I flew my pa addiction x I was amazed and properly set up 3d plane requires almost no trim if any and floats so gently at low throttle....flies better than a trainer....these planes could be flown by a beginner with super low rates for sure
Very cool your 3D plane journey is very similar to mine. I started with a horizon PNP then when to one of these guys and the difference was so staggering to me I almost couldn’t believe it. There’s just no comparison. I really don’t think there will ever be a foam pnp 3D bird that will touch the performance of these arf 3D monoplanes. People ask me all the time why I fly these over the foam PNPs and I tell them look at the planes EF/Skywing sell almost all 3D birds and they have lots of experience in this category. Compared to horizon where they maybe make one 3D plane every 2yrs. who do you think is going to perform better.
Totally agree. I'll still fly my Eflite Ultimate, but it just doesn't have the performance and capabilities of the Skywing Edge.. Frankly, I don't thing Eflite was going for a purpose build 3D plane, but a good aerobatic rc plane... Friends are amazed at how light the Skywing is, its crazy light for sure.. I'm still trying to excel at this 3D thing, but so many other planes (civilian, warbirds, and EDFs) get int he way.. Thanks for commenting, I really appreciate it.. Good luck with your 3D journey.. - Will
Properly. Heck your cg on 3d pNe take it up at a 45 deg angle while inverted at 3/4 throttle and if it drops its nose heavy and if it rises its tail heavy....u want it to keep track or drop super slowly if you like to keep a little elevator while flying inverted but yeah works perfectly...only for 3d planes with a mid wing
I have the T-Motor AM480 900kv, with a 60amp Hobbywing Funfly v5. APC 12x6 prop.. Seems more than capable.. I. get 4+ min flights on the 4S 2200. For more power they recomend a 13x6.5 prop.. I may install that soon.. Just to see..
Right now I'm using the Liperior 4S 2200 50c. Works well for 4 minutes on the timer.. I tried my Tattu 2200 45c and they had a fair bit of drop when I punched it. Thanks for watching, let me know if you have any other questions.. Always willing to help out a brother.
@@waymaker_rc_club Ryan, it’s a good purpose built plane. I find it a bit fragile though. That’s the trade off for being so dang light. I’d recommend it for sure. I did a build video on it too.. good luck, have fun. - Will
Earl.. It was a sight to see.. So smooth and easy... If you listen carefully, You'll hear Jim blabbering on to Bob about something in the background... I gotta work on my audio editing... :-)

Thanks Adam. Appreciate all the help to make this a perfect Maiden.. it’s all about proper setup…. Thanks.
@@SteffenRC Happy to help brother Will!
Love the green!! These planes fly so well!!

I've only seen a handful of videos from Adam. But he seems quite trustworthy. Lol
I've become friends with Adam over the last year. Solid guy and really knows his stuff. VERY Honest and trustworthy advice..😁
My 48 extreme flight was insane on a 4s setup flies lik a 6s plane seriously

I’m with you. Great flying planes. Super light and will fly very slow.

As I fly it more, I’ll tweak the CG a little to get perfect for me. I’m with you. I tend to like a little down while inverted too..
What's your full setup motor esc and prop and battery on this 48

@@SteffenRC Thank you for the reply. I’m thinking of one of these to fly at the house for practice when I can’t make it to the field.

I wouldn't exactly say you missed anything. And it wasn't blabbering! It was a well conducted conversation.
@@jamesmcdonald5003 to be sure.
Well conducted???? hmmmm. Let me play it back.... :-)
