i always found it a bit sad that they wrote a beautiful song about john, but they never really played it properly, and its now long gone forgotten. even removed from the then and now CD
I agree. I think it's the best thing Pete has written since '78 (for The Who) and the song is largely ignored. Radio played "Real Good Lookin Boy" instead. This song is clearly superior and lyrically much more significant.
It seems like Roger kinda forgot the lyrics there. Pete def gave him a "look" that could only be interpreted as "Jesus H. Christ, does the guitarist have to do EVERYTHING? Moooove! Sheesh!" Lol!
Gram Parson Pete can hear subterranean mole people in the sewers, even when he plays on stage. It’s just an ability he’s worked to strengthen over time.
Totally underrated tune and wished they had played it more.

can people please stop criticising and just appreciate good music. who cares if roger messed up, i don't! :-)
Least Roger could do is learn the tune to honor John. Sheesh. Thanks for sparing us and ending it early, Pete!
Why are lyrics left out? About the girl and coke etc.
He also came in to early at the start!
