    When it comes to UPF protective stuff, watch your comps when picking up Coolibar. Sell-through has dramatically fallen off for used stuff (still not terrible but not what it used to be) ever since Coolibar opened their own Ebay store to dump their overstock and clearance stuff. So when you're selling pre-owned Coolibar keep in mind you're competing with the actual manufacturer selling NWT stuff hella cheap on the platform. There's still stuff worth picking up I'm sure but the prices have dropped so low personally I'm not even looking stuff up anymore.

    I have a pair of Ariat booties, oh so cute but there's no size, so I never listed them. The heel is slanted so I can't even put them side to side with another pair because they never match up correctly... Not sure what to do, might end up brining them to a consignment store where people can try them on.

    For shoes where I dont know the size: If they are close to my size, I try them on an give them a detailed description of how they fit me, what my shoe size is in common brands (steve madden and converse, in my case). If they don't fit me at all and I dont know, I might sell them locally and people can just try them on but I provide a measurement if possible. But If im on the fence, I just dont pick them up.

    I am sitting on a pair of unlisted Paul Green shoes because I can't read the size (it might be a half size and that part rubbed off). I don't even want to measure them. Generally, I won't buy shoes if I can't see the size. Oh, and Gweneth Paltro is the Goop founder. I'm sure you got that by now!

    Hi Cayley, quick question. I see your fees listed at about 13%. Do you not promote your clothing items on ebay? Did you include the per item fee in your calculations or did you just do a quick average not including sales tax, the 30 cent fee, etc? I sell a lot more clothes these days and from other sellers, most have said they promote because of the saturation in the category (many at like 10%). Just wondering your thoughts on this. Thanks :)

    • @BlissfulDee
      @BlissfulDee 2 месяца назад +1

      Not Cayley, but just a note to say that the FVF for clothing on eBay is 13.25% +40¢ (they raised the per sale fee from 30¢ a few months ago). Regarding promoting your listings, it's actually not necessary to promote anything at higher than 2%, the minimum. A number of resellers I know have experimented and found that promoting higher doesn't bring better results than just promoting at 2%.

    • @cayleyelaine
      @cayleyelaine  2 месяца назад +3

      Hi! Good question. If anything was promoted it was included in those fees on my spreadsheet. I used to not promote anything but just started experimenting last week with them. Video about that soon.

    • @helpfulcommenter
      @helpfulcommenter 2 месяца назад +3

      I am also not Cayley last I checked, but promoting stuff isn't worth it if the item is low saturation, high sell-through, or there's not many in the size/color you're listing - it takes a few seconds extra to do that research but it can be worth it. I use promoted listings on saturated brands like lululemon, polo ralph lauren etc, but i wouldn't waste my money on KUIU or Hanro of Switzerland just for example.
      Edit to add - BlissfulDee is probably right about the 2%. I've been using 3% but maybe I'll bump it down. I can tell you that promoting listings DOES work, the numbers don't lie - and at the end of the day when you look at what you paid ebay "extra" to make the boosted sales numbers, it will very much seem worth it and a small price to pay for moving inventory. But anyone promoting clothing at 10% is setting their money on fire imho.

    • @AngieResells

      @@helpfulcommenter But anyone promoting clothing at 10% is setting their money on fire imho. lol You are probably right, I have gone back and forth on this and have been doing 10% on clothes but I just don't feel like it's a good return on how much is selling. I would be better to run a coupon at 10%...thanks for the input

    • @helpfulcommenter
      @helpfulcommenter 2 месяца назад +1

      @@AngieResells Like I said, it really depends on the item. Promoting at 10% seems outlandish unless the following is true of the item: you got it cheap. It sells for a lot. (Those are relative terms that differ for everyone but imho getting something for $5 or under that sells for $50 and up) The brand is super saturated. The item itself is super saturated within the brand. The size and color you have are very common within that item saturation. The sell through rate is just so-so and left alone might not sell for close to a year.
      Off the top of my head I can’t think of many things that fit categorically that I would pick up in the first place.
