Cait's my favourite character to play as in Rebirth. Great vid and gameplay, specially watching you do small stuff as jumping off the Moogle to absorb Fire damage as the Moogle can't.
the combat is so insane, everyday someone is uploading new tech/strats lol i wonder how much Square intended/knew would happen, it feels like they knowingly allowed us to "break" the combat in certain aspects.
I think they knew that Cait was ridiculous but I don't think they thought about everything. Aerith has a weapon with the trait "Limit Damage Up". None of her limits even do damage and there's no indication that it affects her party members
@@gb51 they intentionally didn't set a lot of limits on us. the most they did was make lvl 3 spells cost two ATB bars, but we see how that turned out LOL
@@2052brad I think the brumal problem would be solved by just, not refunding the cost if you don't dodge something. All you need to use it for nearly free is the speed demon keychain. Cait's dodge n' dive and Tifa's focused strike don't refund at all if you don't dodge something
I already had limit, and tbh with the 2 ATBs I could have just killed him in 6 more seconds instead of using slots. I just wanted to flex the slots. Finding a safe spot to use them solo is very hard.
Parrying on the moogle is 99% just like parrying with anyone else, you just need to know when the moogle can and cannot block, which is when it can and cannot parry. It needs to be either walking under the player's control or it needs to be in a 100% computer controlled state in order to block/parry. Anything the computer does on it's own can be canceled into a block. The moogle cannot block/parry while using attacks that give it an uncancelable unique animation. This means it cannot block/parry while executing Let's Ride, Fortune Telling, Lucky Slots, or any of the 4 moogle abilities. (Knuckle, Kaboom, Magic, Mine) It cannot block/parry while evading with his spin, or while using his twirling hold square button attack. If you push triangle to mount the moogle, it automatically executes a sliding attack and you cannot block/parry. You can prevent the slide by holding the stick and forcing a spin evade, but he cannot block/parry while doing that either. If you push triangle to mount the moogle, you are forced to wait about 1.5 seconds before the moogle is able to block so it is very important to know when it is safe to mount the moogle. If you use Let's Ride, the moogle is able to immediately block/parry after hitting the ground. Cait and the moogle also have armor during the Let's Ride animation, so you may take damage while using it but you won't be interrupted (unless the damage somehow kills the moogle) and will be able to block after. It CAN parry while using Roll o' the Dice and Lady Luck. It can parry while casting anything, and it can parry while you are mashing square for ranged or melee attacks. It can even parry when it executes a baseball slide on it's own. As long as you haven't commanded it to do anything, you can block/parry.
The amount of things that need to go right is insane. Imagine if you didn’t get the limit break to resist octaslash or odins temporal imprisonment. Or somehow camera messed up and you failed to clip both of bahamuth wings Or phoenix didn’t die and dodged one of gilgamesh summon attacks The RNG is brutal here and that second limit you got on sephiroth was like game holding your hand saying take the win.
Octaslash limit was manufactured with like 8 perfect blocks and Transference Module + ATB Limit weapon trait. The sonic boom I used before octaslash gave my my last bit of limit so it wasn't luck. (It was, however, dozens of attempts) Besides that, Cait can actually dodge octaslash. eauvni did it in his uploaded clear and I've done it but not uploaded it yet. Dismounting the moogle is basically a short range teleport which is how you do it. On Odin I already had limit, I was just flexing the Lucky Slots for fun. I get both of Bahamut's wings every time. Target one, hold square will kill it every time. 2nd level magic kills the other wing. However I will concede the Phoenix 1 cycle requires a lot of luck 😂 Gilg needs to use Pinwheel instead of spatial rend and fortune telling (probably) needs to crit. The 2nd limit on Sephiroth wasn't a cheap save either. You can't use limit when you are in hitstun which means if I had just held block instead, block would have come out. Some of his combos have gaps like that.
@@aethertruck I have been trying to do bonds of friendship solo as zack, with no control over materia is the true challenge of this game, I was able to defeat phoenix, but need to work on my parry game for the enemies ahead. @@godaddy9837 yeah. Seph and Zack have some real appeal. Completely fresh characters with high skill ceilings and 10 round fights. The HP pools of those enemies are super inflated in those battles too. Not having precision defense focus is a major problem for me but they do have some decent materia and tools. You only have to parry the first hit and the one after his small spin break, the other hits gets parried automaticly.
