    why is it stuck to 1gbps

    • @SmokeMyBlunt
      @SmokeMyBlunt Год назад +1

      It uses whatever your ISP delivers to you. Its using Cat 8 which is made for data centers.40gbps is not something home owners will achieve,that is typically for servers,it also depends on your router and your motherboard,most mobos dont go over 2.5ghz. Its a good cable nonetheless though and will perform better as a cat 6/7 cable. Your download/upload will be slightly better aswell,and if you play games you might see a lower ping/ms.

    • @SmokeMyBlunt
      @SmokeMyBlunt Год назад

      @@officialX4Nii You can if you want, you should really google around to see if you really need/want a nic card though and which one would be best for your mobo/ISP connection.But there is nothing wrong with your connection though,its supposed to stay at 1gbps,thats what your mobo ethernet port supports. What does increas with this kind of cable is the speed of data transfer which should be 2000mhz compared to 500mhz on a cat5 I believe. That should result in faster overall internet with browsing,watching youtube videos,and gaming. I know i noticed a big improvement in overall speed and how snappy everything feels when browsing compared to my old cable.

    UGREEN is quite reputable where cables are concerned. Not only for ethernet but also their USB types. And since I'm upgrading my home network to Wifi 7 that runs 10GBPS, I thought I might as well use their cat 8 cables not only for the ONT and router (which is the TP-Link BE19000 router) but also for my smart devices hubs/gateways and my Synology NAS.
    And yes, some might consider cat 8 to be an overkill but I guess I'm ok with it. Besides, I don't need long cables to run all the network devices since they're stored in my electrical closet so 1m (~3ft) is enough.

    • @UGREENOfficial
      @UGREENOfficial  8 месяцев назад +2

    What is the maximum download speed from 5.50MB?

    • @UGREENOfficial
      @UGREENOfficial  5 месяцев назад

      Well the cable is rated for 40 Gbps, which I believe is equal to 5 GB/s so a 5.5 MB file should download almost instantly but that's only if everything else is as fast as the cable. The download speed will also be affected by the speed of your internet, router, Ethernet port, etc

    • @aerundel
      @aerundel Год назад

      @@corrpendragon 2.5G and 10G are getting more popular. You can use Cat6 or higher for that depending on distance. Fiber is not durable and it's not going to help anybody that just wants to use their integrated ethernet ports on their end devices. You're arguing for an investment in a fiber switch and PCIe cards when this is just a cable. Fiber has its place, but it's not the consumer market. I'd buy Cat6 versions of these but UGreen's not selling them. Perhaps it's not worth offering the lower end cables given that they'd need to support more production lines (shielded vs unshielded). Might get a 10ft of this and the 2-pack of 6ft round cables they're offering on Amazon. One thing to keep in mind is that the flat cables don't do PoE.
