These were the last stages of his career (He’s just 39yo) when he was a lil' bit more heavier than at his peak at SL Benfica. Where let’s be honest, he was never huge but a good center midfielder (that sometimes played as right back). Yet he was always very appreciated by SL Benfica's supporters for his personality/work ethic/simplicity of processes/gameplay and seen as "One of us" even whilst playing for SC Braga (kind of a rival) or even whilst coaching Sporting CP (big rival) which can’t be by any means considered common! Half of MU team at that time were stars. But they played with the pride as The Red Devil. Today players get paid high, play like shit on the pitch, but play hard in the bar. Like Rashford, Antony, Jadon, Casemiro…
Signs of a great manager is when they come they produce results without crying about lack if good players. Tuchel and Klopp showed that. For last ten years, every manager that comes to United kicks out existing players (even if they are good) and brings new expensive ones and then leaves the garbage for the next manager. Ruud showed, the fault was not in players but in man management, i hope Amorim can show the same
Exactly. I don't want amorim to come in and pull another Ten Hag by buying a bunch of players saying that united need 3-4 players to compete at the highest level again. As a supporter, I think they already have a good squad of players that just need to be managed correctly.
Nani of United, Beto (goal keeper braga) and Hugo Viana are from Sporting's (Lisbon) academy Also In 2012 Sporting Clube de Portugal eliminated Manchester City of Suarez, Bolotelli, David Silva, Hart. Braga is a one of the best teams in Portugal, specially in last 15 years.
