Interesting as Ligers are, they're even more interesting when compared to a Tigon. Same parent species, but with the sexes flipped. They are so vastly different from each other. For example, Tigons are only about the same size as lions, males can grow manes, and their stripes are more pronounced than a Liger's.

first off, make sure it is legal to keep them. second, realize they get really large. Raising them isn't an issue except for temperature. They will eat anything that will fit down their gullet. Its been my experience that piscivorous species vary widely in how picky they are about their food. If you can get them to accept other than live food, that would be great. Learned behavior here. They are canabalistic too. Realistically, you will need a pool for full sized specimens because they can exceed a meter in length. Under no circumstances ever release one. Did I mention check with law enforcement that they are legal to keep and they get large?

also you couldve gone over the tigon aswell since the liger isnt the only lion tiger hybrid, if im not mistaken the liger is so big because male lions have a gene to increase growth of their offspring and females a gene to reduce it so it balances out, but since female tigers lack that gene the liger gets so big, the tigon is the exact opposite, because male tigers dont have the growth increasing gene but the female lion does tigons are relatively small
