Keep em coming man. As a US fan who has only been following the game since 2008 I love seeing these videos and learning more about the history.
Thanks for the support mate! I'm also based in the US :-)
Nice man. It’s a great country and I’m super excited the sport is growing here!!
Nice vid, keep it up🇿🇦👌🏼
Hey man! More content like this please! More of this, less highlight videos. I love your analysis. I moved to South Africa in 2006 from the Netherlands and would love to see more analytical content focusing on how Super 12/14 changed the rugby landscape in South Africa.
Thanks for the support! I appreciate it
@@RealRugby You create content that does not exist yet. It's a great new market. You deserve the support.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does someone know a method to log back into an instagram account??
I stupidly forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Shepard Zane instablaster :)
@Mateo Duke i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm.
Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Miss Super 12 so much. Really wish we could just go back to those days! Would still enable Aus and NZ to create their cross Tasman comp with the Pacific Islands.
Your content is of the higest quality!!! Well done and thank you!
Moerse dankie Andre, ek waardeer die support!
Can you please do more of these where you speak, documentary type videos? This is great content that can become archives for our proud rugby history. Because there are no documentaries I am aware of. The NFL have done it and it would be great for many of us proud Springbok supporters. Just some suggestions: The tour of the Springboks of the 80's to New Zealand? As well as the history of British And Lions Tours to South Africa? Story of each Currie Cup and Super Rugby? Etc. Please keep this going. Its phenomenal content.
I read your first sentence and thought you don't like the content... thanks for the support. I have lots of footage and lots of ideas, just need to find the time to do them all. Thanks for the suggestions! And thanks for supporting this channel
So sorry the 'not' in that sentence was a mistake. Its fantastic content. I absolutely love it and can't wait for more videos. You are doing a GREAT job!
Do a tribute for the beast
Rugby is my favourite sport.
Bro i love your content and this video is just amazing... i personally am interested on the subject of rugby's professional turn and your video gave great insight into this. 👏👏
Thanks for the kind words! I really appreciate the support! I'm planning to do more of these at some stage
'Appreciate your thorough research, time and effort! Great channel and insight!
Thanks for the support!
Me too
Great video...we have to know our history to understand the present
Lekker video. I was just a boy at the time but while fully aware of our World Cup triumph (yes, I cried when we won!) I had no idea about what was going on behind the scenes. I've read about it in a few autobiographies but this video is the best explainer in my opinion!
This is a great RUclips page for rugby in general. hou aan met die wonderlike werk Mnr.
Old subscriber from Nepal..
Good video
Please do clips like these for Springbok coaches from Williams to Erasmus
Excellent video. First class.
good vid again.
Dankie man. Dis uitstekende inhoud.
Alternate history question: what would professional rugby look like today if they went with Packer in 95?
Awesome video!! Didn't know that SA lead the world into rugby professionalism in it's current form.
Yup. Louis Luyt was instrumental. He was a successful businessman in an amateur world and brokered a deal that benefited South Africa more when SANZAR was formed
@@RealRugby Without Dr. Luyt things would have gone down differently.
@@gcombrinck agree 100%. He saved the tradition of the game. We are busy with your video btw...
@@RealRugby That guy (Dr. Luyt) was a great man in many ways, and a hero, even if not liked by some. I’m glad you pointed him out as having played a key role. Much respect. (thank you, sir. :-) )
Great video👍
Im pretty sure Jonah played a huge part in making it a professional sport.
Jonah Lomu was the first global rugby superstar and definitely had an impact on how much players could get paid, but the game would have gone pro without him
Were do we go from here? How about taking over soccer as the world's best game!
Maybe a show on the best coaches of all time!!! Did not see that one.
which song do you use for the opening?
New sub here 😁
Thanks mate!
Rugby has been held back by these very same incompetent amateur unions who have no idea how to run professional competitions. They have too much say and too much influence and meddle with everything
Wondering ? Was the professional era initiated by the southern Hemisphere ?? And how does the Northern Hemisphere factor into the transition to professionalism?
It was 100% driven by the Southern Hemisphere. The unions in the North was slow to address professionalism. In this story, their only contribution was to comply/agree with the direction the South was going. Rugby in SA, AUS, NZ, was going to go pro with or without the Northern Unions
@@RealRugby not surprising considering the margins between the North and South on the pitch.
@@HenryDube72 Very True
Worst thing for rugby was to go professional ..money grabbing players and unions are killing the game .
Why did they not want to make rugby professional?
Money talks... you know the rest
Hope it doesn't follow football my favourite sport and become closer and closer to a joke.
