I remember sitting through weeks of beach volleyball and things like jet ski racing or waterskiing. Waiting for what seemed like the once a summer skateboarding contest they would broadcast. I tried to watch the surfing, but I was a kid from the Midwest and didn’t really relate much.
If I recall correctly, before it was Hot "Summer" nights the commercial and song was Hot "Tuesday" nights because all of the watersport stuff (competition waterskiing, etc.) was on Tuesday nights. Miss these days for sure. Magical times.
Ahhhh... growing up in the early 1990s, sneaking downstairs to watch TV after everyone went to bed. This brings back memories.
